"So she's a droid?"
Kylo sighs, letting his eyes flutter shut as he closes the coffin again. "No."
Hux stutters. "Then—what? What is it? She? What's happening? How is she—it—she—a weapon?"
"She is a weapon because I made her that way."
"You say you made her but she's not a droid?" Hux backs away, almost tripping over his own two feet. He knew Kylo was a little bit of a psycho, but this is like being on the brink of insanity.
"Let me explain," Kylo says, raising his hands innocently and gesturing for Hux to sit on a nearby stool. Once Hux is seated and silent, Kylo begins.
"This is Nyx."
"Original," Hux mutters.
"Do not interrupt me," Kylo shouts, and Hux recoils once he sees him reach for his lightsaber. "I found her on a planet we invaded, dying, but not from us. She was very sick, so I saw an opportunity and took her on board secretly. I killed the only Stormtrooper who knew of her. Once she was secured down here, I healed her sickness and gave her other qualities, ones that would benefit us. She has extraordinary powers, powers that are bigger than all of us. She can be our secret weapon and help us win this battle against the Resistance."
Hux's eyes are wide. "How did you grant her powers?"
"It was a combination of my Force and some concoctions I invented. Don't ask what she can do; I don't know; I've never seen the full extent of them. But she's powerful. She radiates power."
"Well—what about—doesn't she remember her past life? How did she not run away from you screaming? No offense..."
Kylo rolls his eyes. "I healed the sickness first before I gave her anything else. When she awoke, she remembered nothing of her past life, so I'm guessing it wasn't much of a life at all." Kylo grits his teeth at the lie. "The part of the planet she resided on is very poor, very dark. I made a new life for her, here. I named her Nyx and only told her what she needs to know."
"Do you really think this will work? Does she know how to fight? Does she know what we're up against?"
"Yes, you imbecile," Kylo sneers, getting impatient with all his questions. Can't he just take the idea and run with it? "I trained her myself. She's superb with a lightsaber and almost as skilled with the Force as I am. Her other powers were hers to play with; she controlled them, and now they're tamed. She's not a droid, animal, creature, or robot. She's a human being with a heartbeat. I'll let you feel her pulse if you don't believe me."
Hux shakes his head repeatedly. "I believe you." He takes deep breaths as he analyzes whether he should allow this. If he doesn't, the First Order could face a major downfall, which he'll be responsible for. But can he trust Kylo with this? What if she's crazy and ends up destroying not only the Resistance, but the First Order as well? What if she joins the other side once she realizes there is one?
"The Dark Side is all she knows," Kylo interrupts his thoughts. "The prospect of a Light Side would make her laugh. She would never turn."
"Is that a guarantee?"
Kylo nods stiffly. "If she turns, I'll kill her myself."
