[16]• Day Off✅

Cassie Mallet

I was awakened by the shimmer of sunlight playing on my eyes. I rolled over in my bed and checked the time.

7.35am

"Wonder i'm up so early?" i questioned myself sleepily. Then i remembered, i didn't sleep atal, 3 hours sleep the most. Once i had found the strength to pull myself from bed i sleepily made my way into the bathroom." Once inside i did what you usually do in a bathroom. Wash. I had decided on a cold shower instead of my usual hot ones, just to wake me up better and also because i never had the guts to take a ice cold shower and i was feeling strangely broody today.

I wrapped the white cotton towel firmly around my body and skipped back into my room leaving a trail of water drops on the floor from my damp body. I closed my door behind me and fished around in my underwear draw, pulling out some clean undies and bra. I slipped them on, adjusting my boobs in my bra. "Damn, why did i have to have such a flat chest? honestly i look like a boy." I sighed and opened up my closet pulling out a plain pair of blue skinnys, and a white sweater. It looked cold out. I slid my feet into my warm ankle hug boots. I LOVE hug boots. There like heaven only for your feet.

I left my hair fall into its natural form, which was a mixture of waves and curls. Reaching for my make up bag, i pulled out extra volume mascara and applied two cotes. I didn't need a lot of mascara as i already had long eye lashes, but it just gave my eyes that defined look. Shoving my mascara back into my make up bag, i graped out my strawberry flavoured lip gloss and applied a fin layer on my lips. I sucked in my lips tasting the lip gloss, and then pouting them back out again. I threw my make up back back on top of my dresser, and excited my room climbing the staircase.

I entered the Kitchen to find my Dad sat at the kitchen table, a cup of coffee in his hand and the days news paper laid out in front of him. "Morning Dad" I sing song planting a kiss on his cheek passing him and pulling open the fridge. I pulled out the jug of milk and left it on the kitchen counter and i rooted in the cupboard for cereal. Finding a box of  "Crunchie Nut" i began to pour them into a bowel. "Morning sweetie, your up early?" Dad questioned surprised a small smile appearing on his lips. "Ah, didn't sleep much." I answer him pouring milk on top of my crunchie nut cereal.

"Why?"

"Um, just couldn't sleep really." Had lines to learn. I smiled telling almost the truth, i mean i did have lines to learn but that wasn't why i didn't sleep it was because i couldn't seem to get Jake's words from replaying on my mind. I must have wondered away in thought again cause i spilled milk all over the kitchen counter, the bowel over flowing. "Shit!" I cursed slamming down the milk carton on the counter. "Watch your language you lady!" Dad warned pointing his finger at me. But his face wasn't serious it was amused. "Sorry, i apologized wiping up the milk from the counter.

"It's alright, Dad mused turning his attention back to his news paper.

I rolled my eyes and shrugged my shoulder looking down at my over flowing bowel of cereal. "Bottoms up," I whispered to myself gulping down a spoonful.

Jake T Austin

"I hate monday's.... I sighed sitting up in my bed, the sunlight beaming in on me. "Good morning, Mr Szymanski" Roberta my house keeper chirped pulling open my blinds letting the sun fill the room.

Szymanski was my real last name, Austin was one of my middle names, but people found it easier to call me Austin then Szymanski. "Morning Roberta, I greeted her flexing my mussels and jumping outta bed. "Would you like me to prepareyou breakfast?" She asked standing across from me smiling sweetly. "Na, it's okay i'm not really feeling all that hungry." I inform her making my way to the bathroom.

"Are you sure?" She called after me her voice un-sure.

"Positive," I call back from the bathroom throwing cold water on my face.

I stared myself in the mirro examing myself from head to toe. "This is as good as life gets," I tell myself. My phone began to ring, Simon's number flashing on the screen. "Hello?" I answered.

"Jakey," Simon's voice spoke, he sounded happy.

"Not you too!" I sigh at the name "Jakey" smiling slightly.

"Ha-ha, i think it suits you."

"Let me guess, Cassie told you?" I chuckled shaking my head un-improving.

"Maybe, she's a great girl Jake."

I know," I smiled down the phone my eyes lighting up.

"Does Jakey have a crush?" Simon joked clearly amused. "Nope!" I lied smoothly.

"Don't lie to me Jake, I've been working with you long enough to know when your lying,".

"I'm not." I lied again.

"Whatever you say Jake," I heard him sigh.

"Is this really why you called me to give me a lecture on my love life?" I questioned creasing my eye brows.

"No, i was calling to tell you i'm giving the cast the day off," He spoke happily.

"Like for real?" I mocked; He never gives us the day off and especially not on Monday.

"Yep," Simon said again sounding serious.

What's come over you?

"Nothing, i just thought that you guys have been working hard and i thought you'd want the day off?" Simon said smoothly sounding all to specious.

"Don't lie to me Simon, i've been working with you long enough to know when your lying? I mimicked him gentle laughs escaping my lips.

I could feel him roll his eyes.

"I have a date," He confessed.

"Ah, lover boy!" I laughed smirking pushing the phone closer to my ear.

"Shut up Jake," Simon spoke in a threatening tone.

"Or what?" I teased.

"Or i'll cancel my date and bring you into the studio and make you rehearse lines all night."

'Okay, okay..." I gave in.

"Okay, well i gotta go now, so do whatever for the day but be in the studio 8am sharp tomorrow. Got it! i agreed smirking; i have the full day off, sweet.

"Goodbye Jakey," Simon's voice laughed down the phone before hanging up.

Goodbye Simon, i mumbled to myself exciting the bathroom running into my room.

I already had a great idea of what to do for the day."
