Chapter Two

Sadie POV

The heat from the fire burns my skin as I roast my marshmallow. The wind blows against my skin which makes the fire move. I step closer to the fire. My marshmallow caches on fire and I take it out of the fire. I lightly blow on the big marshmallow.

"Yours looks good." Bo says from standing over the fire. I smile and walk over to the table with gram crackers, Hershey’s, and plates.

I move one of the plates and put a gram cracker on it. I crack the gram cracker and gently set a piece of the Hershey. I put the marshmallow on top of that and take the other half of the gram cracker and smush it against the marshmallow, making a smore.

Satisfied with my smore, I take a bite. A light moan comes out of my mouth from the taste of the smore.

"Liking the smores?" Bo questions with a laugh. I guess she heard me moan. She probably thought I was making out with it for me to moan.

I laugh and swallow. "Yeah. I haven't had a smore like this in years." The last time I had a smore was at my fiends party aa few years back.

"Well that's good cause we are going to be making them about every night." We both laugh.

Every night we would have a bonfire at sun down. Sometimes we would have fish or steak, it all depends on what somebody caught or if somebody went to the store a few miles a away from the Lake. But for tradition, we would have smores after dinner and sit by the fire.

Bo and I sit down at our chairs and eat our smores in silence. It's not one of those awkard silences that feel uncomfortable. This silence feels nice and comfortable. It feels good to eat our smores and watch the night grow darker.

We end up talking to friends who come over and sit with us. It's nice to talk to everyone again. Everyone has changed so much over the years. It's like a whole different vibe.

Throughout the night I talk to a lot of friends and hang out with the teens and young adults. But the one person I haven't seen yet is Justin.

I wonder why he isn't here. Maybe he went on a walk with his sister, but Lindsey is here and talking with us. Maybe he's up in his room getting ready or-

My thoughts are suddenly stopped when somebody comes behind Lindsey and holds her waist."There you are! Where have you been all night!" Lindsey yells.

"I was here and there." Lindsey glares at him. "Okay, okay. I was at the cliff with Erik and Brandon- Did you know that the Johnson's are back? I can't wait to see Firecracker."

He still calls me Firecracker! Justin used to call me Firecracker because I was a very crazy little girl. I don't even need coffee or sugar to get me hyper. So he started calling me Firecracker. I guess it just stuck ever since.

I suddenly got nervous when Lindsey whispered in his ear and he smiled. Are they talking about me? Oh gosh.

I looked away from them and at the water. I have to not seem so nervous around him. But from what I can tell, Justin has changed a lot. He's taller and very handsome, okay maybe handsome isn't something I should be saying, but he really is. He isn't wearing a shirt and from all the way over here, I can tell he definitely has a six pack. How could you not be nervous around him?

I hear footsteps behind me, but I ignore them and keep looking out at the water. I feel someone’s presence next to me. I take a deep breath and close my eyes.

"You know, when someone says hi, you should say hi back." He says.

"Oh my gosh, I didn't realize you said something. I'm so sorry." I quickly say turning to face him.

Justin starts laughing. "Actually, I didn't say hi. I was just trying to come up with something to say first, but I guess I failed."

I start to laugh with him. "I can't believe you did that! I thought you really said hi and I totally ignored you!"

Justin stops laughing and looks into my eyes. His serious face is on.

"I missed you so much Firecracker. You don't even know." Justin says with a huge smile.

I can't handle it anymore, so I pull him into a hug. My face buries into his bare chest. I can start to feel my cheeks get red, but I really don't want to let go. His hug is warm and comforting. I really just want to stay in his hold the rest of the day, but he slowly pulls away.

"I missed you too, Justin. I still can't believe that we actually came this year." I say with a smile.

"Well believe it. Cause it's really happening." He says while pulling me into another hug.

Two hours later, it's ten and everyone is starting to head to their cabins. The whole night consisted of talking and making smores. I didn't just hang out with Justin, if you were wondering. We went back over to the group of teens and hung out with them.

I had a really fun night spending time with the people I love and haven't seen in four years. Too tell the truth, nobody has changed at all. At first everyone was still saying hi, but once someone said a joke, everyone became themselves. And that's why I love this place so much.

The last two people went in their cabin, while Justin and I sat on one of the logs and watched the wave’s crash against the rocks.

I didn't want to go in yet and I know Justin was feeling the same way. We sat in silence for about five minutes until Justin broke it.

"We're going on the boat tomorrow. We're all going over to the cliff, if you want to come. It'll be like old times, except no parents." Justin whispers.

"That sounds like fun. What time should I wake up?" I whisper back.

"Around seven. We'll leave at eight. And don't forget to bring your camera so we can take pictures." Justin smirks and stands up.

I nod smiling. He gives me his hands and I gladly take them. Once I'm standing, we both head to my cabin. He gives me a big hug and a kiss on the head before slipping away.

I wave to him as he runs down the beach to his cabin. He waves back and then goes inside. I step inside my cabin and go to my room. Once I'm done getting ready for bed, I jump into my bed and let sleep take over me.

All I can think about is how happy I am to finally be home.
