We drove for about another hour, too soon we were pulling up outside kathys. The day had been amazing; just spending time with Andy was incredible. And the truth was… I didn’t want it to end.
“Thanks for today, it’s been amazing” I told Andy as we sat in the car.
“Don’t thank me, I’ve loved it” he smiled, again taking hold of my hand in the same way as before causing butterflies to dance around my stomach yet again. “Don’t want it to end”
It was true; I didn’t want Andy to leave. He makes me feel special and I love that about him. It wasn’t too late and so I decided to ask him in for a coffee
“Why don’t you come in for a drink and I’ll put the kettle on?” I asked with a shy smile.
“That sounds amazing” he smiled in return.
Again Andy helped me out of the car like the gentleman he is and handed me my bag and crutches. We walked down the path to the front door. The door was open, so I let myself and Andy in, dropping my bag on the bottom of the stairs with Andy following me.
“The girls are probably in the living room.” I told him. “Now we can make introductions now or we can sneak into the kitchen” I laughed.
“Erm why don’t we make a drink then go say hello” he offered “I’m sure they’re not that scary” he laughed.
“I wouldn’t be too sure if I was you. When there’s a nice boy in the house you never know what will happen.” I joked. “Now come on I’ll shout hello and then we can go to the kitchen then we’ll go in after”
“Hey girls I’m home!” I shouted popping my head round the door of the living room.
“Oh hey you! How was it? Tell us everything?!” Kathy said like an excited five year old on Christmas. I had to get out of there quick before they made any embarrassing comments about how Andy was “gorgeousssss” in their words. Surprise surprise that was the next thing out of her mouth “Was he as beauti….”
I laughed it off quickly interrupting her before she said too much “don’t worry I will, I’m just putting the kettle on anyone want one?”
“Nah we’re good there’s some wine here if you want some” char offered.
“I’m okay, just fancy a cuppa” I smiled as I hobbled off into the kitchen and Andy sat at the table on his phone. I shut the door behind me to stop the girls from listening in.
“I’m back, the girls are okay, and they have wine” I laughed.
“Aww good, just texted the lads, they were starting to think I’d got lost”
“Well we nearly did earlier!” I laughed remembering Andy nearly taking the wrong junction off the motorway.
“We didn’t!” He said with a grin “My sense of direction is incredible” he laughed.
“Soooo what do you want then? We have tea, coffee, hot chocolate? And I think there’s some biscuits in the cupboard” I asked.
“Ooo… Now you said you make a mean hot chocolate so I think we’ll have to test it!” He smirked.
We chatted whilst I made the hot chocolates; I ditched my crutches after a while against the door and managed to hobble. Andy offered to help several times but I told him that was cheating. Finally they were done, topped off with whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate sauce.
We sat and talked a while about the day and just light chit chat.
“We should do this again” Andy smiled holding the now half empty mug in his hands.
