Jehu's POV

"Hey guys, where's Ethan and Emma?" I asked the others.

"I don't know," they said in chorus.

"Let's go find them," I said, getting up from the cafeteria table.

The others got up too, and we began to walk outside the cafeteria.
As we stepped out, we noticed the Busshead crew leaving as well — but Austin was missing.

Something must be going on, I thought.
Austin, Ethan, and Emma are all nowhere to be found.

We rushed toward Emma's locker, but only found Austin and Ethan there.
Ethan had connected his fist with Austin's jaw, sending him sprawling to the ground, and Ethan was all over him, beating the crap out of him.

We ran up to them — and so did the other guys from the Busshead crew.

The halls were empty now.
It was just Almighty and Busshead standing face to face, with Austin lying bloody on the ground.

Austin's POV

"HAHAHAHA!" I laughed, wiping blood from my mouth.
"So we meet again, Almighty," I sneered.

"You're a big pain in the ass, Austin," Ethan growled.
"I will destroy you and your crew if you f**k with Emma again."

"So that little angel is your girlfriend, huh?" I teased childishly, and my gang members started laughing.

But then, from behind us, I heard a voice — calm but full of threat.

"Actually, I'm not the angel you think I am," Emma said.
"I'll make your life a living hell."

"Shut the f**k up, Emma," I scoffed.
"You can't even mash a little ant," I laughed at her.

But before I could blink, she walked straight up to me — and punched me in the nose.

The next thing I knew, I was slammed up against the lockers, my nose gushing blood.

Emma's POV

I punched Austin square in the nose.
Ethan, James, Jehu, and Stone all looked completely shocked.

"What?" I snapped.
"You assholes never seen a girl punch the hell out of a loser before?"

I started to walk away when Ethan called after me, "Emma, wait up—"

Ring, ring, ring.

The bell interrupted him, signaling it was time for our next class.
We made our way to the classroom.

When the teacher started speaking, I slipped on my headphones and began playing "Powerful."
Before I knew it, I was fast asleep.

"WAKE UP, SLEEPYHEAD!" someone shouted.

I jolted awake and stretched my arms.

"School's over. Need a ride home?" Ethan asked, smiling.

"Sure," I said, getting up, grabbing my books and book bag, and heading to my locker to put the books away.

I met Ethan and the others in the hall, and we walked outside together.

"Where did I park again?" James muttered, scanning the lot.
"Oh, over there," he said, spotting the car.

We headed toward a sleek red and black BMW.

"Wicked," I whispered to myself.

I slid into the passenger seat and put on my seatbelt.

"So where do you live?" James asked, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Chambers Street," I said softly.

The ride was mostly quiet until Ethan asked if I wanted to hang out with them — to be part of their crew.
We talked and joked until we reached my house.

"Thanks for the ride," I said, stepping out of the car.

"No prob," Ethan said with a bright smile.

I waved goodbye and headed into the house.

"Mom, I'm home!" I called, heading straight to my room.

I placed my book bag on the computer table, put my hair into a messy bun, and took a cold bath.

Afterward, I got dressed, did some homework, and climbed onto my bed.

Before I knew it, I was fast asleep.
