I don't know if I'm gonna fit in here.

My mom and I just moved into this place called Luxembourg.

War took place in Paris, our home town, so we were forced to evacuate.

Evacuate forever that is. Well, um, we're not going back.

Here, it is peaceful. No gunshots, no killing, and no anything related to military killing-people equipment.

I'm Lorien Xiaris Alzette del Selene. 16. Female. Born on the 15th of November.

We're living in an apartment by the city.
I was done unloading our stuff and so I finally got time to look around. Turning every now and then absorbing the sceneries.

My mom is working as a nurse. She goes out early, she comes home late. I rarely see her.

And so the new chapter of my life begins.

"Shar! (Xiar)" Mom called. "I'm going out."

"Where to mom?" I said as I opened my room and ran to the door to see my mom opening it.

"To the hospital." Mom replied. "I'm gonna be working there."

"What time are you going home?"

"Late."

"Can I go-"

"Yeah. You can go anywhere you want. Just be careful. Bye dear!" She said as she closed the door.

This place is so different. I thought.

I miss our 7-storey home. (Sorry to be so rich)

And so I prepared my things because I was about to go out.

"Mall, restaurant... arcade!" I said as I picked a place to visit. "Naah... Mall." The most common place peoplr would visit. The mall.

And I was out. I got in a train and went to the mall. I went inside and as usual, it's big and crowded.

I don't really like crowded places, so I went to a coffee shop at the top-storey of this building. Passing people and stalls on my way. And to my surprise, there are only two customers in this place. One girl in her forties and a boy. The boy's face was kinda bit familiar but I did not really got a clear picture of his face 'cos he left as soon as I took a seat.

So... that makes me and the girl in a very lonely coffee shop. I ordered a regular coffee.

*silence... ... ... ...*

My ears were getting numb already.. until...

"You alone?" The girl said. Breaking the silence. She was wearing a hoodie jacket like she was from a Zumba dance session.

"Yes." I said.

"You better go home as soon as you finish drinking your coffee..." She said. Trailing off. "Or else."

"Or else what?" I asked gently.

"Or else..." She said. "Fate will give you a glimpse of the future."

Then she stood up and left.

Weird! Why did she just told me to go home? I thought. And what's with fate with his future?

After I finished drinking my coffee, I left the shop and went down to look at some dresses. I went in every single store. Seriously. Amma girl. And girls are like that. And so! I lost track of time.

I enjoyed roaming around.

*Beep*

My phone.. someone must have sent me a message.

On screen. "Xiar, be home before 7. Be careful. -Mom"

I looked at the time and it was 06:47㏘
Oh my.. Gotta go back.

It was raining outside. So I ran to a nearby train station and rode. Inside was a familiar man I think I've seen somewhere.

It was very silent...
Then the train turned left. It was a quick turn and I was caught off guard, I wasn't able to hold on to something... So I was sliding to the familiar guy.

Awkwaaaard! I'm right beside him now. And our shoulders touched.

"Sorry." I said as I moved away.

He just nodded. Our eyes didn't even meet. I arrived at my destination and the train stopped. I got out and found out that the rain has stopped. I walked home. As soon as I was near. I saw my mom infront of the house. I ran towards her.

"Hi mom!" I said as I embraced her. "I went to the mall today."

"That's nice Xiar" She said. "Now come... Dinner's ready."

Did something happened?

"And also, you're late."

I just smiled and we went in. I prepared the dining table for dinner and mom placed the dishes on top of the blankies and we both sat down.

"You know, mom" I said, breaking the silence.

"Yes?" She said.

"There was a coffee shop on the top-storey at the mall. And there were only three customers there, including me."

"Sad shop." She said, closing the conversation.

"Mom," I said, opening up a new topic. "How's the hospital?"

"I got in!" She replied happily. She probably waited for me to ask her so that she could change the atmosphere. "I'm starting tomorrow. Now you finish there and I'm gonna find a school for you tomorrow."

"Thanks, mommy." I smiled.

"Now, I'm out."
She stood up and cleared the dining table and she washed the dishes. In a flash, she was done already. And she went to her room and locked it. Without a word, she left me still in my seat.

I finished eating then washed my dishes then directly went to my room.

Images from earlier came flashing to my vision again. Like I was reliving it.

Who was that guy... I thought as I was about to lay down. He seemed really familiar.

I've seen him before.

I thought Who was that girl in the train... She seemed familiar. I'm certain I've met her before.
