Ino wakes up when light begins to funnel in through the not fully closed curtains. She groans but already she is thankful that she doesn't have a full-blown hangover. All those bottles of water she had drank last night after leaving Shikamaru and Choji's room had obviously did their job. She still rubs at her forehead, banishing away thoughts about last night. She didn't want to think about it... Not yet.

One glance at her phone meant she was also going to have to ignore the two or three texts she had gotten from Shikamaru the night before though. She quickly dismissed the notifications, not wanting to be reminded every time she looked at her phone.

"You're up," Sakura smiled as she handed Ino another bottle of water and two painkillers. Usually this was Ino's job but Sakura had beaten her to it today. Ino happily accepted it either way. Sakura went through her own phone while she waited for Ino to drink the bottle away.

It was only when Ino was done did Sakura raise an expectant eyebrow at her. "So... What happened last night?" While Sakura had been willing to forgo the conversation last night after she chased Ino and Ino had shaken her head to Sakura's question then, Sakura wasn't willing to wait forever.

Ino just groaned before slipping her phone over to Sakura with the screen up on Shikamaru's text messages. "Read."

Obeying the command, Sakura curiously began wandering Ino's text with Shikamaru from the day before. She looked for answers but Sakura found herself only frowning even further in confusion at the texts before finally ending with a small gasp. "That ass!"

"I know!" Ino grumbled as she got out of bed and started her morning routine of hair and makeup. "He was being such a rude asshole last night after getting drunk."

"You're right there..." Sakura noted as she re-read over the texts again like they hid a clue. "No wonder why you threw your drink in his face! Naruto would have gotten it even worse from me if he dared say such a thing!"

Ino nodded as she retied her ponytail. "And the worst part is that I never even found out what the hell his problem was..."

"Is being an asshole not it?" Sakura grinned, trying to cheer up her friend.

"I wish it was that easy to figure out..."

"Well..." Sakura looked up from Ino's phone. "If it makes you feel better, I told him to sit his ass back down when he attempted to follow after you last night."

"Nope."

"What if I tell you, Naruto said he was a total downer after you left?"

"Nope."

"How about he had to take a shower after you left because he was all sticky?" Sakura giggled.

Ino tried to hold off a smirk but failed. "Okay. That does help," she nodded. "But not enough to talk to that arse!"

"Understandable," Sakura nodded. Though her eyes went back to Ino's phone that now buzzed in her hands. "Though is it funny that he just texted you?"

Ino's eyes widened in surprise as she looked at Sakura through the mirror. Damn Shikamaru... Ino hated that a part of her wanted to run to her phone to see what the text message was. Was he apologizing? Did he feel bad? She finally pulled her eyes away to look back to her reflection and knock some sense back into her. He better feel bad!

"I don't care."

Sakura nodded loyally as she put Ino's phone back down like a good best friend. Though it was suddenly going off again. "He sure is persistent..." Sakura frowned as she realized what she said... About Shikamaru. Weird.
