Planet Wolfe

Kaden slowly crept through the tall grass that gave him cover from his prey. This was the first meal of the day; so he knew he couldn't mess this up or he and his wife would go hungry.

His target was a large elk that was feeding on grass...alone. Kaden saw this fine animal and he knew it would be enough for the day.

He inched his front left paw forward, then his right, then his right back paw, and finally his left back paw. Finally, he was ready to strike...

Kaden stood motionless...he let the wind flow through his black and white coat for a few seconds. He inhaled slightly, held his breath, and then he pounced.

As the defenseless elk turned around...it was too late...for Kaden was already on it's back. Once he had a good grip with his paws on the elk's skin, he tore into the neck of the animal and dragged it to the ground.

"I'm sorry." Kaden said as he elk stared at him with eyes that were slowly closing. Once the elk had died, Kaden sliced it's neck with his claw.

Kaden dragged the fresh prey back his tribe of Gale. He dragged the elk into his home, where his expectant wife Snow was waiting.

"Kaden dear." She said as she approached him and rubbed her white fur against his neck.

"I have breakfast for you and the pup." Kaden said.

Snow tore open the gut area of the dead elk with her sharp claw. "Did you eat?" She asked Kaden.

"I found some fish on the river when I was headed back." He responded. "Now I have to report to the center." He finished as he rubbed his nose against Snow's.

"The pup kicked again while you were out." Snow said with a smile. "I think he or she will be here soon. We need a name."

Kaden looked back from the door. "I'll think of something..." He said before he left out of the door.
