Tribal Guardian

Kaden entered the tribe center and walked into the circle that was formed by his fellow wolfmates.

"Ah Kaden." The pack leader said. "Nice of you to us...late as usual."

"I'm sorry Adrian." Kaden replied. "I had to go hunting for my wife and my pup that is on its way here."

"Very well." Adrian replied; his brown coat glistening in the sun. "Now, that we're all here. Our scouts have spotted Sun wolves on the ridge that are headed this way.

"Seems like they're getting closer everyday." a wolf named Angel said; he had a scar that an across his left eye.

"That's just it." Adrian said. "The are very close to breaking our defenses. The village is in grave danger..."

"And just how do plan to stop them?" Another wolf asked.

"Should we take a savage kill squad?" Another wolf from the circle asked.

"No. No!" Adrian said loudly; silencing the growing commotion of questions. "We will take a single team of three tribal guardians."

Each wolf that heard these words began to toss glances of curiosity to the wolf next to them.

"So...What are the rest of us supposed to do?" Kaden asked. "Stay here and hope that you and this team stop the entire Sun Wolf tribe?"

"Oh, no." Adrian said. "YOU won't be here Kaden. you'll be on the mission with me."

A shock of anger and shock ran across Kaden's face. "WHAT?! no...no..no! No! I have a wife and a pup that is almost here to tend to! Besides, you said that this was a mission for tribal guardians...that's NOT my position."

"Kaden..." Adrian said. "I know you don't want to, but you are one of the best hunters this tribe has, even though you may not realize it. "I need you for this mission...the TRIBE needs you...."

"I'm sorry..." Kaden said; looking away. "But I cannot do this...it's too dangerous..."

"Kaden..." Adrian said to stop the wolf from leaving.

Kaden turned his head and looked back.

"If...you help on this mission, I'll discharge you so you can care for your wife and pup. Kaden...I beg of you...please..."

Kaden closed his eyes for a few seconds. He thought of Snow and his pup. Finally, he let out a sigh. "Okay..OKAY!" He said. "I will help...But only if you hold true to your word Adrian."

"You have my promise Kaden." Adrian said.

"Who else is joining us on this mission?" Kaden asked.

"I am." Angel said as he walked forward proudly.

"What's our objective anyway?" Kaden asked.

"Before I explain that," Adrian said as he dismissed all the other wolves except for Kaden and Angel. He then came and sat in front of Kaden. "We must begin your initiation to Tribal Guardian. Raise your right paw..."
