Chapter 1 The Council of Elrond (Reminder this is British English)
Amira's POV
I awoke to the sound of soft knocking, "Lady Idril? There is a letter for you".
"Come in", I said, "And remember you do not have to call me Lady Idril, my name is Amira, Nellas." I reminded her after she had stepped in carrying a tray of silver, a cream coloured envelope resting atop.
I pulled myself off my bed, drapes of cloth fell off with the movement and swirled at my feet. I picked up the tightly sealed envelope,"You may leave Nellas." After the door shut behind her, I hurriedly tore open the envelope to reveal a identical cream coloured slip of paper reading: Your presence is requested at the Council of Elrond in Rivendell. This concerns the fate of us all.
I frowned at the slip of paper for a few moments,"Nellas!" I called, "Prepare Earane". Nellas nodded before replying quietly, "My lady if you are departing I must tell King Feanor." I gritted my teeth at the sound of his name then sighed in annoyance, "Do what you must."
I wore my riding dress, cloak and boots, and packed two extra sets of travelling clothes, a small amount of supplies, my bow and arrows, two machetes, two daggers were shoved into my boots and my weapon of choice a double-edged sword. I paused as I passed my dressing table and after some contemplation swiped my silver head piece off the table and dropped it into my bag.
As I was halfway down the hallway, a voice called, "Lady Idril! The king requests your presence." I gritted my teeth angrily, turned around and stomped into Royal Throne room.
"You requested my presence, King Feanor?" I said through clenched teeth. "Lady Idril, where are you going on such short notice?" He said in his sickeningly self righteous voice.
"I am going to Rivendell to visit my Uncle Elrond and my cousins". Which was not entirely a lie.
"As a she-elf of royal blood you cannot leave the Glacial Realm of the Elves as and when you wish," he said. "As a matter of fact I CAN," I spat.
"I cannot allow you to do this as you are my daughter and there are rules to follow!" he returned angrily.
"Your Daughter? HAH! Let me ask you, 'Father', have you ever treated me like a daughter?" I said angrily. "I advise you to consider that King Faenor," I said, my voice dripping with venom.
_______________
I entered the stables and walked towards my horse Earane (Ara- nae), a pure black, part horse part Mearas. I smiled softly as I stroked her dark glossy mane, "Earane, we are going to visit Uncle Elrond and Cousin Arwen." She neighed contentedly and I swung my leg over her back.
"Ride," I whispered into her ear and we were off.
_______________
The sound of Earane's hooves clicking against the ground echoed softly at the entrance of Rivendell. I patted Earane softly, "We're here."
I smiled fondly at the memories I had of Rivendell visiting my relatives. Just as I slid off Earane's back I heard a soft voice, "Amira?"
I whipped my head around to see my cousin Arwen looking at me with a mixture of joy and disbelief. "Arwen!" I cried happily as we embraced. "It's wonderful to see you," I laughed. "It's wonderful to see you as well Amira!" She smiled at me softly, "It has been long since you last visited us!"
I sighed sadly, "Yes it has and I am sorry there were just... too many memories here and I didn't have the heart to come back." She nodded silently, "I understand". What I loved about Arwen was that she always understood me best.
