Chapter 6 The Woods of Lothlorien
Amira
The feelings of sorrow and exhaustion had passed as we crossed the white rocks and stood now near a spring, where we stopped for a short break. The day began to wear on and it was afternoon by the time we jogged into the woods of Lothlorien. The clear blue sky was now blocked by the towering elegant trees and the warming sunshine broke through the cracks of the leaves. The forest was warm and inviting, we looked around with a sense of wonder at the clear lush green woods.
Gimli's words broke through my thoughts as I wondered through the forest alongside Aragorn and Legolas, "Stay close, young hobbits!" Gimli said as Frodo walked up to him with Sam in tow. "They say a great sorceress lives in this woods. An elf witch of terrible power, all who look upon her fall under her spell... and are never seen again."
Frodo
I was listening, intruiged by Gimli's words when I suddenly heard an echoing, soft, enchanting, female voice in my head, "Frodo...Your coming to us is as the footsteps of doom. You bring great evil here, Ring Bearer," however the warning pulled on fear. I looked around in confusion. "Mr Frodo?" Sam asked, looking at me in concern.
Amira
I rolled my eyes at Gimli, "Don't scare them Gimli, they've been frightened enough." And you're insulting my aunt by the way.
He paid no heed to my words and continued, "Well, here's one dwarf she won't ensnare so easily. I have the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox".
Sure, sure. Aragorn chuckled lightly and Legolas lips turned up into an amused smirk.
Right at that moment, an arrow appeared right in Gimlis' face, he stumbled back slightly and raised his hands in surrender. In a short moment, we were surrounded by elves with their bows drawn. Legolas drew his bow aiming from one elf to the other in confusion.
The hobbits looked shocked and frightened and I sighed and looked right into the eye of one of the elves pointing his arrow at me. He immediately released his grip on the bow and drew back in shock, "Lady Idril!"
His companions dropped their bows as well, mouths parting in surprise.
I smirked as a serious pale-blonde elf walked up to me. We stared at each other for a moment and a smile broke onto his face.
"Amira!" He laughed melodiously as we embraced. I felt Legolas stiffen behind me and I smirked. "Cousin Haldir, it is good to see you," I greeted him warmly.
He nodded at Aragorn who had walked over and they exchanged greetings. "Haldir of Lorien," Aragorn bowed respectfully. Haldir then turned to Legolas and they regarded each other with stiff nods.
"Aragorn! Amira! Legolas! We should go back! These woods are perilous!" Gimli said urgently, his voice filled with panic.
Haldir turned his freezing stare upon him, "You have entered the realm of the Lady of the Wood. You cannot go back."
I rolled my eyes, "Be nice, Haldir". He smirked and led the way, "Come, she is waiting."
He took us through an enchanting route, past the great trees and up the beautiful winding stairs of Lorien. The stairs were sheltered by glittering crystal arches and wound around the great trees.
The elves of Lorien looked on as we made our way to see my aunt. The enchanting wood was a sight to behold, the large towering trees formed the great Wood of Lorien, their branches white, their leaves a lush green. The branches bent over in the most elegant way, sheltering us along with the glittering arches.
