Today was the team's day off and they decided to spend it watching TV. (Well that is everyone but the Boy Wonder.) Robin was off in the corner of the room completely content with doing hand stands as the others watched the movie. It was about an immigrant girl during the Gilded Age who has to learn how to cope with the ways of America. Her first obstacle was to learn English. Being from Russia this was very hard for her. Artemis laughed at how hard it was for her to pronounce common words that we use every day.
When the movie was finally over Artemis and Wally were in a fit of laughter. "Honestly that movie was pointless. I mean who could be so stupid as to not be able to learn English?!" Wally said while laughing.
"Hey! English is hard!" Everyone had almost forgotten that Robin was still in the room. He did a hand spring and landed in a chair across from the team with his legs hanging over the armrest.
Artemis laughed "Hard?! English is so easy!"
"Ya cause you grew up with it!" Robin added.
Wally rolled his eyes "A ton of countries speak English how could people not learn it? You'd have to be really stupid to come to America if you couldn't even speak the language. People should learn it before hand."
"Well some people don't have a chance to learn it before they leave their home country." Robin stated.
Wally smirked "People in Britain speak English. You don't see them having any trouble."
Robin threw his hands up in the air "Oh you want to go there?! People in Britain speak English. You Americans have completely trashed the language. I mean you've added so many extra rules and don't even get me started on contractions! And I mean if there is like and dislike why isn't there traught and distraught?! It's so confusing!"
Wally put his hands up in surrender "Dude you say Americans like you aren't one."
Robin smirked "Ya and I'm proud of it. You Americans are crazy! With all those iPhones, iPads, iPods, and iWhatevers! Pretty much if there's in 'I' in front of it that makes it cool."
"But Robin you were born in America." Megan said almost as a question.
Robin smiled "No I wasn't. I haven't even lived in America for half my life. And trust me when you're nine years old coming to a new country without any previous knowledge of it it's pretty hard to learn a new language. Why do you think I have all those made up words? Its cause for the first couple years I was here I thought they were real. Only till Wally told me they weren't did I finally find out." he then stood up and started to leave the room.
"Then where are you from? Artemis asked.
He smirked "Romania." And just like that he left a very confused team to ponder this.
