Fade rushed out of camp with the cats he had chosen following close behind he sniffed for her scent but couldn't find it. Viper looked confused and finally burst out. "Fade? Who are looking for?"

Fade, looking less confident then before, answered. "L-Lili" he stammered. Apple and Dusk looked understanding, while Viper and Swipe looked plain confused. Also Ice and Twist both had expressionless faces.

Dusk, despite having her kits, was chosen because her nose was one of the greatest in the Forest cat group. She kept sniffing but only smelt blood and a strange cat. They kept looking and looking when she finally scented something but it wasn't good. "Fade." She meowed, and he looked up. "I smell Lili, but i also small a lot of blood." His eyes widened and he followed Dusk as she tracked the scent.

Darkness swayed around Lili as she stood looking around into nothing. It was like she was just floating in darkness but then a light shone out, and a orange tabby identical to Lili stepped out of it. Lili looked at him joy filling her gaze. "S-Sky?" she asked. The young tom nodded and Lili ran to him. "I miss you so much..." She meowed to her deceased brother.

"I miss you too Lili." He purred.

She looked st her paws and finally collected herself to ask what was on her mind. "Am- am i dead?" She didn't remember what had happened to her, but she knew it wasn't good.

Sky blinked thoughtfully. "I can't answer that because to tell the truth, I don't really know, your in the middle of the world's of life and death." He said waving his tail to the everlasting darkness.

Lili, who was clearly shocked, looked up tears in her eyes. "Will I-I ever see my k-k-kits again?" She lowered his eyes to his paws and Lili let out a choked sob.

Sky looked up and quickly let out a small sigh. "Follow me." He breathed. She listened and the world seemed to change as her surroundings formed the sky above. She looked down and saw the forest.

"W-what!?" She gasped when she also saw the human houses. Sky led her lower and lower to where she was almost touching the ground.

"This is your world." Sky breathed. Lili stared around awe, she never realized how beautiful the world was, until now, when her life was paws of nature.

Sky led her through the forest till they came to a path he sat curling his tail around his feet and flicked his ear for her to copy, she obeyed and she soon heard the thrumming of paws. She gasped when se saw Fade, his eyes wide and frightened, and Dusk leading him forward her nose to the ground. Lili opened her mouth to yell out but Sky stopped her. "They can't see or hear you, but there is one person who can, because she has the spirit and heart of a lion."

Swift layed in her next of grass and flower petals cuddling next to Raven and Strike, thinking about her mother. "I wish you were here..." She sighed.

"Oh sweetie I am here!" Cried a voice full of pure joy. Swift turned to see a shining outline of her mother.

"Momma?" She said her spirits lifting for the first time since her mother had been forced away. "Momma what's wrong with you? Why are you faded?"

Lili's head dropped. "I'm not actually here in person, I'm dying." Swift let out a wail.

"Momma I don't wanna lose you!"

Lili's gaze softened. "You will never lose me, I will always be there for you." Tears dropped onto the ground disappearing when they touched the real world. And then her body got dimmer and dimmer until only her outline was visible.

Swift tried to run forward but couldn't move. "Momma don't leave!" She shrieked. But Lili was gone.

"Swift! Swift!" Voices yowled out, Swift looked over to see Strike gazing into her eyes. "Swift are you OK? You were just standing there! You didn't even blink!"

Swift started sobbing at her sisters words. "Strike, I saw her, I really did." The much bigger kit frowned.

"Who?" Asked Strike.

Swift hesitated thinking her sister wouldn't believe a runt like her. "L-Lili" she said with a choked sob.

The eyes of Swift's litter-sister brightened and she curled around the tiny kit. "I believe you," she purred. "Lili will always be with us, and I'm your sister, never be afraid to tell me anything."

Dusk ran forward the other cats trailing behind, when she finally came to a small clearing she screeched at the horrible sight, Lili was laying in the ground gashes on her sides blood pouring onto the ground, a strange Siamese cat standing over her. Fade shrieked and bowled over the tom. "What did you do to her!?" He yowled.

The tom looked frightened. "My name is Curt, and I didn't do anything, she was attacked bye foxes and I saved her."

Fade relaxed. "Sorry..." He mumbled. "I thought you had attacked her and its my duty to keep her safe." Fade's words earned some confused looks but he just ignored them. "Ice, Twist, please save her." The cats nodded and started examining her.

Ice looked at Fade sympathy in her eyes. "I don't know if we can save her, already she's in the middle of life and death, she's no longer in our power."

AN: wow just wow BTW I changed my mind and wanted to update so here it is! I think this book will have 20 chapters and an epilogue, y'alls thoughts?
