Chapter 13

Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed that last chapter. I don't have much to say here so I'm just gonna say that don't forget to vote, comment, and most of all enjoy!!

Hunter's POV

I couldn't really sleep last night. I kept thinking about how I tried to confess to Mia. I thought that I would finally be able to tell her how I really felt, without any interruptions. So much for that. And I even told her she looked beautiful, but she thought I was kidding!

But she's always been stupid and extremely oblivious. I guess I should've expected it though. And even I did end up telling her how I felt she'd probably say something like,

"Aw, that's sweet! I love you too, buddy!"

Buddy...yeah she'd probably say that as well. Dammit! Why'd I have to fall for her? Plus, she's my best friend. Wouldn't that ruin our relationship and make it super awkward? I definitely don't want that.

That's the last thing I want.

"So, by the looks of it, you tried telling Mia how you felt, huh?" Denton said mockingly.

"You did that on purpose didn't you?" I said slightly annoyed.

"I don't know what you're getting at." he said with a smirk.

"You bastard I oughta-"

He shushed me as he put a finger to his lips.

"Your love is sleeping. You wouldn't want to wake her." he said smirking.

"You won't even at least let me tell her how I feel?"

"What if she returns your feelings? I don't wanna risk that. You know I like her too. But....she can only have one of us. I kinda want that to be me."

I know how he feels. But I want it to be me that ends up with her in the end. I've known her the longest anyways. That should automatically give me a better chance, right?

"What about Zylen? You know how he feels about her?" I asked trying to figure out if I had anymore competition.

"I don't know. I asked him about it once but he turned red and totally denied it. They seem like they're just friends but you never know. It's always possible, though." he said.

"I'm gonna get her." I said standing up.

"Dream on! Girls always fall for the bad boys like me! You don't stand a chance." he said back standing up as well.

"Yeah, well I've known her longer and she's been my best friend for a long time! Girls can't help but fall for their best friend if he's a guy! So I'd say that I have a better chance than you."

"We'll see." he said walking away and purposely bumping into me.

This means war.

Main POV (Mia's POV)

"Ah, Zylen look at this one! Isn't she so adorable?" I asked holding up the new female puppy in front of Zylen.

"And her brother is adorable too! Whoever the father was must've been a handsome dog." Zylen laughed as the male puppy licked his cheek.

"Well, I think Muffin's cuteness also helped them out as well, don't you?"

"Haha, yeah totally!"

I'm glad that Zylen's loosened up a lot around me. He almost never stutters around me now. It's nice to know his more "open" side about him. He's even...cuter I guess you could say.

I blushed slightly as I thought that last part but continued to admire Muffin's pups with him.

"Hey guys!" Hunter said as he came over and sat down by me.

Denton came as well, looking slightly annoyed in fact, for whatever reason.

But that doesn't matter because

"PUPPIES!!" Zylen and I said at the same time showing them the pups.

"Have they been named yet?" Denton asked.

Zylen shook his head in response. "We couldn't come up with any." I added.

"I'm sure we'll come up with something." Hunter said.

"Yeah. By the way, should we start going forward or just head back to where we started?" I asked referring to the trip that was supposed to have ended by now buuuut didn't because of yours truly.

Hehe, oops....

"We should probably just head back." Denton said as the other guys nodded in agreement.

"Great. Let's start getting ready."

After getting the puppies to settle down and eventually fall asleep, we had our breakfast and started to put everything away and divide it between us.

Zylen got to handle Muffin and the pups because they seem to like him the best (lucky *^*) and I was in charge of half of our food while the boys got the rest of the food and supplies.

I was excited to get back and to start working back on our little house with some help from Zylen of course. Denton and Hunter would disappear somewhere during that time like they always do.

So it would just be me and Zylen. I hope we're able to finish it as well. It'd be really cool and tons of fun. Oh, and I bet the pups and Muffin would love to have their own little space in there as well.

I'm so excited to get back!
