"You have a good eye." I say looking at all the buildings around an the formations of the glowing shapes on the buildings on this unusually warm seasons thanksgiving morning while it was still dark.
"Every light that you see, right now... There's lives happing in them. There all so differnt but they all have so much in common. I don't know why but I just find it incredible that we all have the same options of instincts, emotions, ultimate limits but yet use them so differently. We were all created with different personalities but I can't help but feel that any of them are special enough to be actually different for something's bigger than this little planet that is to small to even think of being compared to what we know is out there which also can't even be thought about being compared to what else might be out there." She was looking up at the sky. "Yet..." She looked at me "We're worth so much to each other and we can't even help it."
"Wow, I feel so hollow."
"Your the least hollow person I know, Moral compass."
"But compared to that."
"Teach me?" Here she
goes, trapping me.
"What?"
"What do you believe?"
"I'm developing new beliefs."
"Huh?"
"I'll tell you when I know."
I see her rub her eyes and the out of the corner of my eyes. The restless girl is tired. I put my hand on her back but end up wrapping my arms around her. I'm not sure how long it has been when she gently pulls away and walks to the ladder. I follow her down until she crawls into her apartment.
"Goodnight, Maya."
"Goodnight, huckleberry." As I look into her eyes I can see the real Maya. Not the one that she comes across as but the innocent one that us saw at beach, throwing the shells or at the park.
