Chapter 21 - Alissa's POV

"I wish they would stop staring at me." I muttered to Finn as we entered the canteen. The 'not so sneaky' glances of my peers was beginning to irritate me. Everywhere I turned, I could count on the fact that if I dared lift my eyes to anywhere but my feet as I walked, I would meet eyes with a stranger in my school who I had never spoken to before in my life. The constant and unwanted attention slipped my mind when I had made the decision to return.

"Ignore then Al, I bet they are just glad to see you are back!" He replied. I laughed, grabbing a plastic tray and joining the food line. Surprisingly i had actually missed the canteen food, even the chicken curry that seemed to be made of anything but chicken.

"I bet they weren't even aware of my existence before he took - " I stopped suddenly, "I mean, before it all happened."  I quickly finished praying that Finn had been oblivious to what I had said.

I was wrong.

"He?" Finn stopped, looking at me, "I thought..i thought you didnt known if it was a man or a women?"

"I didn't," I replied, "I don't, it just slipped out i guess."

He opened his mouth to say something else but the unexpected shout of the dinner lady, telling me i was next in queue stopped him.

We sat at the same table only this time I felt the eyes of the canteen watching my every move. Today had flown by, it was lunch already, one more hour and I would be leaving again. Some how I had expected more from the day, clearly my expectations were too high.

"So," I said catching the attention of my three friends, "what have I missed?"

"Nothing much," Jack said, eating a piece a pasta. "Hey, Leah, did you hear what everyone's been saying about Beth and Thomas?"

"No!?" She exclaimed.

"Beth and Thomas?" I asked, "Are they together? Wow, I've really missed a lot!"

"What were they saying?" Leah asked curiously, turning towards Jack ignoring me. I frowned.

"No way!" I looked over, they were caught in deep conversation. I turned to Finn, who was secretly texting under the table.

Accidentally reading the caller ID i noticed the name Charlotte. I became excited.

"Sooo, who's the girl?" I nudged him gently, grabbing his attention.

"Huh? Oh just someone I met a few weeks ago." He said smiling kindly.

"Oh, anything special?" I queried, interested in the fact that Finn finally had an interest in a relationship. He had girls throwing themselves at him yet he never took any romantic interest in them. I never understood why, but now something was different.

"I don't know yet." He muttered, before shutting his phone of, "Im going to go, I have tennis after fifth period so I should get changed, I'll see you tomorrow yeah!"

He was gone before I could reply, I watched as he met up with a group of boys leaving the canteen.

How much had really changed?

Leah and Jack were still engrossed in conversation that they didn't seem to acknowledge my goodbye. I stood up, before pushing my chair in and leaving.

My expectations had been too high apparently not even my friends seemed to care that I was back. Perhaps it will just take time to get settled back in.

I round the corner of the corridor into the foyer of the school before bluntly colliding with a hard chest. I bounced back, losing my balance and then beginning to descend to the tiled floor but before I made contact, a strong pair of arms grabbed me, pulling me back to my feet.

I sighed in relief, before I looked up to thank the so called stranger but stopped in shock as the familiar sight of brown curls caught my eye.

"Harry?!"
