"Ready?" I ask Madge. "Yes I'm ready." she says as we grab our bags and head out. We decide just to walk into town and take the train. After an hour, maybe a little longer, we are on the train heading to district two. "It's finally happening Madge! I'll see him tomorrow!" I squeal to her and she laughs. "Katniss?" she asks. "Yeah?" "I don't really know how to ask this. Do you think....do you..nevermind." she stamers and blushes. "Madge! Do I think what?" I ask, pressing her question. "Do you think Gale will be excited to see me?" she asks and hangs her head like she's ashamed. I flashback to when Gale was laying in my kitchen and she came out in the middle of the snow storm to give him medicine. Maybe she did do that out of love for Gale. "Of course he will Madge! Why wouldn't he be?" i tell her. "Oh," she says with a giant smile. "Good." she adds. "Madge! Do you Like him?!" I can't believe this, Madge and I squealing like school girls over Gale. "Yeah" she says with an embarassed laugh. "AW!" I yell like an idot which causes her to bust out laughing. "Katniss, what happened to us?" she asked through laughter. "We used to roll our eyes at girls acting the way we are right now!" she states. "Madge, how long have you felt this way?" I asked. "Oh, I don't know. Since I was 10 maybe?" "What?!"I yell. "That's crazy! You must have hated me when we were younger!" I say. "Oh no Katniss, never. Envied you maybe, but I never hated you. I figured anybody he liked must be a wonderful person. Silly I know."she says and hangs her head. "No, it's not. Just...well it's just...suprising." I finally find the right word. "I know." she says. "Are you going to tell him?" i question. "No of course not! Oh Katniss please don't say anything to him. Please?" she begs. "I wont. I promise." i say. "Thank you. I'm going to go to sleep. Goodnight." she says. I get up and hug her. It feels so nice to hug her again. "Goddnight." i tell her. I go to sleep soundly knowing that I have my best friend back and that I will see Petta tomorrow.
