Tommy and I had been dating for weeks. In face our 2 month anniversary was coming up shortly. Things were going great and I was excited. I made him a necklace with a wooden teddy bear on it. That was his nickname for me. He called me teddy bear. I finally finished it and was walking over to his house to surprise him with it. I walked to the door and knocked. A girl answered. I automatically recognized her. It was Veronica, a girl from school. We weren’t close friends, but still friends. We called her V for short.
“Hey V why are you here? Where’s Tommy?” I asked.
“Hey Liz. Well Tommy and I have a project to work on and he’s up in h-his room.” She looked so nervous. I guess she should be. I mean she has problems getting good grades and knowing Tommy he was doing it last minute. I just ignored it.
“Okay, I’ll just…”
“Hey V. who is it?” Tommy asked running down the stairs. I pushed past V and walked over to Tommy. I pecked him on his lips.
“Hey baby, I came to give you a present.”
“Oh yeah teddy bear what is it?”
“Open it and find out.” I handed him the box. He opened it and put the necklace on.
“I love it.”
“Good I’m glad. Well I’ll go now and let you and V finish the project. “
“Okay babe. See you later.” I gave him another peck and left.
The next day at school there was rumors going around that we were getting a new kid at school. I always like making new friends, plus I was anxious to see someone new. No one new ever came here. I was in my first period, English. Mrs. Glover walked in followed by the new guy. He was wearing ripped blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and black boots. His blonde shaggy hair was kind of pushed to the side and his green eyes shined like emeralds. All in all he was HOTT!!!!!
“Class this is Derek. He’s new and I expect everyone to make him feel welcomed,” Mrs. Glovers announced, “Derek, you can sit by Miss. Hurley. Miss Hurley please raise your hand.”
I slightly lifted my hand up. He saw me and smiled. I thought I was going to melt right there. He walked over and set in the empty desk next to me. Mr. Glovers started her speech on poetry. I thought someone was staring at me, but I ignored the feeling and tried paying attention. I had a 3.5 GPA and I wasn’t going to let that get ANY lower. The bell finally rang and I stood up to leave. A hand grabbed my arm lightly and I turned around to see Derek.
“Hey I was wondering if you could show me where room 213 is?” he asked.
“Yeah sure no problem.” We walked in silence for a little while. When I couldn’t take it anymore I spoke. “Oh by the way my name is Vadania, but everyone calls me Liz .So…you like it here so far?”
“It’s nice to meet you. You already know my name is Derek. I really like this place so far. It’s different then my old town. I don’t know where anything is.”
“Oh well if you want I’ll show you around sometime?”
“I’d love that. I need to go get some clothes, so maybe today?” That was really soon and I was just left kind of speechless. “I mean if that’s too soon I understand.”
“No. it’s just me and my boyfriend are suppose to hangout after school. You can join us though. It’s nothing really special.”
“Oh, well okay as long as I’m not intruding or anything?”
