"He's not my boyfriend," I started to scream at Sarah, "We're just friends.""Yeah...yeah. That's what they all say," she countered, "If you two are just friends why are you always hanging out together and why are you going to prom with him? Other guys did ask you."
"For one we've been friends since the 1st grade and for two he asked me to prom 1st. After all his ex-girlfriend will be there."
"Yeah true. I never thought of it like that. After all he is a hottie."
She was right. It's not that I was interested in Tommy, it's just Tommy wasn't interested in me. He was the prefect guy. A gentlemen in every way with a body to die for. His brown shaggy hair and his puppy dog blue eyes made me melt every time I saw him. He wanted to make his ex jealous and I knew that was the only reason I was going to prom with him. I just had to tell myself that at least I got to go with him and pretend to be his girl for the night. Sarah zipped up my dress, which was a beautiful shade of baby blue with a design in front. My heels matched it perfectly and as far as make-up I didn't really know how to even put on more then liner and mascara.
"You think he'll like my dress Vadania?" Sarah always called me by my first name. I hated it. Everyone else called me Elizabeth.
"Of course he'll like it. Only an idiot wouldn't"
"We'll I must say Tommy and you may only be playing pretend, but you and that dress are going to turn heads."
"Yeah sure I will. for some reason I don't believe you." Honk...honk. "The boys are here."
We raced down the steps to see what our prom car looked like. I was hoping limo, but got beat up old mustang instead. Tommy met us at the door, holding it open of course, with a smile.
"Good evening ladies. Looking good Sarah and Liz you're looking stunning."
"Just because we're playing pretend doesn't mean you have to lie about things," I snickered.
"Oh...okay. Well then you look absolutely horrible in that dress. that blue does no justice to you." We both started laughing. Tommy could always make me laugh that was for sure. We walked arm and arm to the car. He held the door open for me and I scooted in the backseat with Sarah. He shut my door and got into the front seat and we headed off to the prom.

We finally made it to the prom, and I couldn't have been happier having Tommy as my escort. I was debating on whether or not to tell him my real feelings towards him. Though we've been friends since the 1st grade I've crushed on him since the 6th. It was then that we wanted to know what kissing felt like so we kissed each other. Wow I can still remember that...
"Hey Liz, aren't you going to dance?" Tommy asked interrupting my memories and thoughts.
"Sure!" I got up and headed out on the dance floor. The four of us were dancing together until we heard the music slowing down. Sarah and Brent left to slow dance. I was making my way off the dance floor when Tommy grabbed my arm and gently turned me around.
"WE could dance if you want to?" I started at him with curiosity. I couldn't comprehend why he'd want to dance with me. He just help his hand out and snickered, "My lady."
