I woke up feeling refreshed. I peered around the room and realized this was not my room. There were several gold curtains surrounding the wall. The carpet was an off white color and had an area rug, with a fancy design on it, covering the middle of the room. I looked at the bed I was on, a dark cherry wood four post canopy bed with a maroon comforter. All of a sudden yesterday's events came rushing back to my memory. I was in Tristan's bedroom, but where was Tristan. I looked around one more time and saw a door to the side. Hopefully that would lead to a bathroom. I shifted to get out of bed when two strong arms wrapped around my waist, causing me to freeze. I peered over my shoulder to see a sleepy eyed Tristan smiling at me.
“Where are you headed off to?” Tristan asked.
“The bathroom?” I questioned back while pointing the the side door.
“Yes that's the restroom. Hurry back. I want to hold you before I start my duties today.” I didn't reply, just hurriedly got up off the bed and walked to the bathroom. When I finished I walked back out and decided I needed to let Tristan know that this was going WAY too fast. Kissing is one thing, but him sleeping in the same bed as me is pushing it.
“Tristan?” I asked
“Mm, yes love?” he replied.
“Um, I just wanted to tell you that I think I should sleep in my own room from now on. It's a little weird to sleep in your bed with you. I mean I just met you yesterday,” I tried to explain.
“If that is what you want.” He looked at me and I nodded. “Alright, you can have your room back for the remainder of this month while you get to know me better, and then we sleep in the same room again.”
“A month? Why a month?”
“Vadania love, please try to understand. I don't want you in there now, but we get married in two months and I like the idea of holding you before hand.
“TWO MONTHS?” I took a deep breath and calmed myself.”When was I going to know about this?”
“Well you were suppose to find out last night, but you ended up causing trouble, so we'll meet my parents today and find out exact dates and all that. Okay love?”
“Do I really have a choice?” I asked sadly. Tristan got out of the bed wearing only boxers and I quickly turned my head to avert my eyes. I thought maybe he was going to go the the restroom, but instead I felt his arms wrap around me.
“Unfortunately no, you don't have a choice when it comes to marrying me, but you do have a choice to make this marriage a pleasant one. I enjoy your company and I want to get to know you more.”
“Alright Tristan, I guess I'll try.”
“Thank you love. Your clothes are in the closet over there. Please dress in something semi-nice, we're going to see my parents for tea. It's warm outside, just to let you know.” He kissed the top of my forehead and headed towards the bathroom. I opened the closet door and pulled me out a red sun dress and matching sandals. I got dressed quickly and sat on the edge of the bed waiting for Tristan. I had no idea where to go and I was getting awfully hungry. A few minutes later Tristan emerged from the bathroom cleaned and with a new outfit on. “You look beautiful Vadania love.”
“Thank you. Where did you get that outfit from. You didn't walk in the bathroom with clothes.”
“I put them in there last night after you fell asleep.”
“Oh, okay. I don't know how I fell asleep last night. I really wasn't tired.”
“I made you fall asleep love.”
