I walked down the street flipping through the remaining money I had left. A lady had seen me on the street and literally gave me $50. It was insane. I guess she thought I was some homeless kid which, I guess I was now.

I had already bought myself a beanie to cover my ears because every time I ran my hair would flop over and I would be all exposed. Also on top of my new gray hat, I bought myself a new pair of shoes. And let me tell you. I am in heaven. My feet have never felt better.

Once I had counted out $30 I stuck the money in my back pocket and continued down the street. I hid in another alley way at some point because a stupid guard was still patrolling, looking for me. The Idiot. It was like this all day.

As I continued on I noticed how much everything had changed in the few years I had been away. The city seemed to have grown and I suddenly felt very small in this new world. It was the strangest thing.

After some time of walking and getting my bearings I was about to walk into a restaurant to get some real food when the guard walked around the corner and noticed me.

"YOU! STOP RIGHT THERE!" He yelled in a boisterous tone.

I turned and was running again, the guard hot on my trail. 'How do I loose him this time?' My mind thought as I quickly turned corners with no luck of loosing the man who wanted me dead.

Just as I turned a sharp corner I slammed into someone, the unknown person's shopping bags flew everywhere. I sat up on my knees quickly getting an idea.

"I'm so sorry!" I said helping the person get their things. As I was stooped over picking up T-shirts and a very colorful pair of suspenders, the guard ran by without even taking a glance at me. 'What a dope' I thought smiling.

"Thanks but watch where you're going next time." The person turned out to be a boy looking about my age.

"I wasn't paying attention, I'm really sorry." I said handing the boy a shopping bag.

He stood scanning his eyes over me.

"What happened to your cloths?" He asked. "Your jeans are horribly ripped and it looks like you rolled down a hill in that T-shirt!" He stopped for second, studying me. "Wait. Did you? You're really dirty."

I scrunched up my face and looked down at my body. In the bright sunlight I could actually see my thin body had a small layer of dirt on my skin and my finger nails were caked in grime. I shrugged my shoulders. It didn't seem like a big deal to me, but apparently to this boy it was.

"Do you, maybe want to come to my place. You can use my shower." He offered, hesitating slightly.

I looked up at him and he sent me a reassuring smile, his deep blue eyes sparkled.

"That would be great!" I said with a smile.

I followed the boy down the street towards what I assumed was his home. I studied him as we walked on. All he was wearing was a simple graphic T, and black jeans. He wore white sneakers with no socks on, and his feathered brunette locks were swept to the right side of his head in a messy fashion.

We reached an apartment complex and he led me up to his apartment. He opened the door and I gasped at the sight before me. Everything was so much nicer than my cell I was too afraid to touch anything.

"If you'll just follow me, the loo is this way." The boy chuckled a little as he set down his shopping bags.

We walked into the bathroom that looked too expensive for a boy like this to own and he flipped on the shower and pointed out the towels and the shampoo and body wash.
