it was a few days later and, of course, Flossy was over Calum's after school. they had just finished their homework and Calum was looking over his history notes while Flossy paced and ranted about whatever came to her mind. he knew it was because that's how she expressed her anger but he wasn't sure how to approach asking what it was. he figured it was because of Diff, but he didn't want to anger her more if it was. despite this, he was biting his lip and avoiding her eyes because he knew if he looked at her, there was nothing keeping him from running up to her and kissing her to shut her up.

"also can we just appreciate the Civil War trailer because I swear I couldn't stop crying after I saw it!" she exclaimed at him. he loved when she talked about things that made her happy because her eyes got glossy and you couldn't keep the smile off of her face.

"yeah I saw it," Calum told her, looking intently at the book in front of him. "I thought it was good."

"good?! it was beautiful! I wanted to slap Steve for hurting my baby Tony."

Calum looked up at her with the smallest smirk and his glasses falling down his nose. "I thought Anakin was your baby."

she whirled on him with the ghost of a smile creeping on her features. "you're a baby, so watch what you're saying." she smirked at him lightly just to show that she was kidding and he shouldn't take words so seriously. "I blame Stan Lee and George Lucas for getting me attached to too many attractive people."

"True that," Calum agreed, looking back down at the words he needed to know.

Flossy suddenly got a text from Diff asking where she was in a connotation that wasn't very inviting. she immediately started to type back a reply quick enough that she could see just how fast her fingers were moving. her focus had been altered and instead of talking to Calum while he reviewed, she was paying more attention to her pissbaby boyfriend.

when she hit send, she saw that Calum was looking at her with questioning eyes. she just lightly shook her head and rolled her eyes as if to say, "men." the room was quiet then and neither were completely sure what to say, though there was so much they wanted to say.

"how about this?" Calum suddenly suggested. "I'll finish this up and we can watch some Star Wars."

immediately, Flossy's face had color to it once again and her smile could not come off of it at Calum's suggested. it was evident that this was exactly what she needed to make her feel better: Calum. watching Star Wars probably helped her too but being in his presence just made her better all around, especially with her emotions. she realized then that she never actually thanked him for the things he's done for her in the month that they'd known each other.

"hey Calum," she called lightly, feeling like a little girl waking her father up because she was scared. when he looked up, she said, "I just wanted to say thank you. I know it's rough being around me sometimes but you're always there and it really helps, especially in times like this. I don't know what I'd do without you." she felt almost guilty as she interrupted him while he was reading his notes but when she said the words she thought he wanted to hear, it seemed that it was destiny.

"you're welcome . . . you know, you're not bad at all to be around. I mean, some people might think it because you live life a little bit more dangerously than I do but I think sometimes, I don't know what I'd do without you either."

there was nothing else for Flossy to do but smile at him lightly and meet his eyes. it was then that she realized he'd been getting better at that. he was still really shy but nearly a different person in comparison to how he was when he first met her. sometimes he took a little longer to talk because he didn't want her to hear him stutter. he'd look at her with crimson cheeks, and definitely not because of the weather.
