Chapter Three:

Liam's POV:

I can't believe her father raped her and I know I don't know Paige all that well but still no one deserved that. I want to help her, to get to know her. But in order to do that she's going to have to trust me. I need to know where she is. I can only drive around aimlessly down random streets in circles for so long before I run out of gas and we both run out of time....

Buzzz....

I looked over to see my phone vibrating on the dashboard.

Please let it be Paige telling me where she is....

Paige's POV:

I know I probably shouldn't have dont it. I should not have sent the text. I shouldn't have.

Here's what I told him, "Liam, I can't let you come to my house. But if you want, you can meet me at the Starbucks down on Emery Street in twenty minutes....?

I got a reply almost instantly.

Liam: I'll be there in five.

I smiled. I know I shouldn't react the way I am but it just feels so good to have someone care about me.

I threw all of the stuff I told myself I'd need earlier into my backpack and opened my window and prepared to jump out of it. Now I've never jumped out of a window before, especially one on the second floor, but the movies sure made it look easy. I'm sure I can do it. On the count of three....

One.

Two.

Two and a....

"WHAT THEE BLOODY HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!"

I tensed and took my very first leap of faith just as my father came barreling into my room.

It hurt when I hit the ground, a loose limb had jammed into my arm, but I would be fine. I just had to run. Get to the Starbucks. Emery was just a few streets down from me. Giving it all I had, I ran like a mad woman, as if my life depended on it, because in this moment it most certianly did....

When I reached the Starbucks I noticed there were only two cars in the parking lot. One beat up old clunker that belonged to the night shift manager and one very nice looking car. I was never good with cars, but I knew an expensive car when I saw one. There was no way that could be Liam's. And looking down at the time on my phone I saw that it had taken me thirty minutes instead of twenty to get here, so it looks like Liam wasn't coming.

I just shook my head. I should have known. It was too good to be true, and good stuff just doesn't happen to people like me. And who am I kidding, why should it? I certainly don't deserve it.

I pull open the door and head to the counter in the back of the cafe and place my order. One small black coffee. Simple, I know. I did love coffee but when you're on a runaways budget you couldn't afford much.

The barista hands me my coffee and I make my way to a small table in the corner of the room. It was positioned perfectly as to where most people wouldn't notice me right away, but it gave me a clear view of the cafe and the door so I would know if anyone came in....not just anyone....but Liam.

I pulled out my phone and saw that I had one new message. It was from Liam, probably him telling me that he was disgusted with me and that he had changed his mind about meeting me. I almost talked myself out of reading it and was about to just delete it, but something told me to give him one last chance. So i opened the message and began to read.

Liam: I'm here. At the Starbucks on Emery. Let me know when you get here. I'm not really sure what you look like....so..?

Me: I'm here too....sorry..I just got your message....

I looked around the cafe and it seemed as I was alone except for one exceptionally dressed man. But that couldn't be Liam, or could it?

Only one way to find out.

Taking a deep breath, I walked up to him and poked him on the shoulder.

"Liam?" I asked hesitantly.
