Chapter Eight:
Liam’s POV:
Why did I take her back? Why did I let her go? It was obvious she was lying about having somewhere else to go. Yet, a part of me was afraid that she might have been right about her potential to ruin mine and the lads careers. Was it really such a bad thing? I’ve barely even known her a few hours. Surely she’ll be okay. Maybe she’ll be able to go home….
And that’s when it hit me.
Paige can’t go home.
Her father abuses her and today….he raped her.
And I just made the mistake of my life by letting her go off to who knows where in her noble attempt to protect my career that she practically knew nothing about; and what did I do for her in return? Nothing. I couldn’t have even thought to stick around long enough to make sure she had a plan….
Damn, I’d deserve to have my career ruined after what I just did to Paige.
But it’s too late now….
Unless she calls or texts me I have no way of knowing how to find her.
Paige’s POV:
It’s been about an hour sense Liam dropped me off at Starbucks and I’m starting to freeze. I wish I’d had the hindsight to pack a blanket or coat earlier into my bag.
I leaned back into the bench I’d stumbled upon about half an hour ago as I walked to a park a few minutes away from the Starbucks and decided that it would be a good enough place to sleep for the night. I’d figure things out better in the morning..
Who knows, maybe things would turn around for the better.
Just as I closed my eyes and was about to drift into the darkness awaiting me, I felt a presence standing above me.
Or rather, several presences.
I reluctantly opened my heavy eyes and looked up to see three rather large looking men standing above me.
They were each big, with muscles and plenty of tattoos and appeared to be drunk.
“Well, well, well..what do we have here boys? Another runaway?” The one in the middle sneered.
“Those are always the best kind. They think they know so much, but in the end, they’re just as helpless as all the rest..” The one on the left added.
Before I could say anything, the one on the right, easily the scariest of the three, slammed a rag against my face and held it there without a problem even as I thrashed and squirmed under him.
In a matter of seconds, everything went black.
The last thought in my mind was that I had to be the most unlucky girl on the planet….
