I looked out over the hill and took in the view. I saw a large barn across from me and I was standing next to a tall pine tree. In the distance, there were cabins and a dining pavilion. I brushed my brown hair out of my eyes and started walking towards the big red barn. Suddenly a man in a wheelchair came up to me. His lap was covered with a blanket. "Why hello! You must be the new camper. I'm Chiron. Here, follow me. I will lead you to the Big House." he said. "The Big House?" I inquired. "It's the barn on the hill. It's our, sort of-" He was interrupted by a girl, who, seemingly emerged from the shadows. "Oh, am I intruding?" she sounded slightly sarcastic. I looked at her. She was about my height, 5'6", with dark brown hair and tan skin. Her eyes had looked blue at first, but after a second glance, I saw they were green. Looking at her, I felt something. A sort of... pull. She looked back at me accusingly. I pulled my eyes away from her and looked back at Chiron. "Kai, this is our new camper," he paused. "I'm sorry, I never asked your name. what may that be?" he inquired. "I'm Anna." I replied. "Well, Anna, I'm Kai. I guess I'll be seeing you around." Kai interjected. She turned and left, melting into the shadows. Soon after Kai left, Chiron handed me a bright orange T-shirt and hoodie. They said 'Camp Half Blood' in Greek-esque letters. " These are your camp garments." he said. " Thank you," I said quietly. Chiron explained the rules and lifestyle at camp and told me that hopefully in the next two or three days, I would be claimed by my godly parent. "Kai, for example, is a daughter of Hades." he told me. " Now off to the dining pavilion with you. It's about time for dinner, and afterward, the campfire." I nodded and headed out the door.
