We left the restaurant, laughing and joking around like normal teenagers. If only that were true. It was about 5 pm when we stepped out the door. The sunset was beautiful, so we went to a hill and sat down to watch it. I took my sketchbook to draw the sight. As I was sketching, I noticed Kai scooting ever so slightly closer to me every five minutes or so. Soon our shoulders were touching, and we were chatting. Simon sat about a foot away from us, nose buried in a book. "What do you think is going to happen to us?" Kai said in a tired voice. "I'm not sure, but I do know that we can take on whatever comes at us." I replied, closing my sketchbook. "Hey Simon, do you know her?" Kai asked, pointing straight ahead of us. I saw a girl walking on the peak of the hill, head down. "No, let's go meet her!" Simon answered. We all got up and ran over to her. She had lavender hair with black tips, and charcoal eyeliner thick around her pale blue eyes. There were bruises on her bare arms and neck. She wore a black muscle tee and black skinny jeans. There was a belt around her waist which held a sharp celestial bronze dagger with a symbol of a hawk tight against her leg. Her combat boots were dirty, as were her black fingerless gloves. "Hey!" Simon called, causing the girl to look over at us. She looked mildly irritated, until she saw Simon's camp shirt. "Um, hi..." She said. "I'm Simon," he introduced, " and this is Anna and Kai." Gesturing one at a time to us. "I-I'm Rhydian. From a Greek camp in Canada." She replied shyly. "Well, are you on a quest?" Kai inquired. "Not really, just had to get away from camp." Rhydian replied. "Would you like to join us?" Simon asked. I elbowed him in the side. "We just met her!" I whispered. "So? She's one of us!" Simon replied, annoyed. "Sure, I guess." Rhydian answered. Well, apparently we have a new quest member.
