We didn't even turn to look at what the creature was. We bolted to the back of the bus, slamming open the emergency exit. I think this qualifies as an emergency, I thought to myself. I heard Rhydian cry out, and looked back to see that she had tripped. Quickly, she got up, and we continued running for our lives. We ran and ran and ran until our lungs burned and our feet blistered. Finally we stopped, gasping for breath and coughing. We had outrun the monster, whatever it was. We sat down on the hill to catch our breath. Simon tried looking at a map to find a motel to stay in. The rest of us watched the sun set, and I snuck glances at Kai. Maybe I am falling for her, I contemplated. I guess that wouldn't be a bad thing. I'm really just not sure. Would she like me back? How could I tell her? My mind was racing. Simon had found a hotel by now, and we started walking towards it. We were exhausted from the day's events, so we ate and almost immediately flopped into bed. This time I slept with Kai, and Rhydian with Simon. I kind of felt jittery whenever we touched. Ugh. What does this mean?
