Chapter 6

I wake up the next morning to fighting again. I'm so tired of this, I just get ready in the bathroom and leave for school. I get a text from Lucas "Want to meet me before school? I smile and texted back "yes I love to cowboy"
I go on the subway and arrive at school and text Lucas "where are you at?" He doesn't text back then I see he texted "come find me" how am I suppose to find him? I keep walking around the school then someone grabs me! I scream but no one is around.
"It's okay it's me!" I turn around it was Lucas smiling at me.
"Don't do that!" I pushed him
"Come let's go" he grabs my hand and we go up some stairs
"Where are we going?"
"It's a special surprise"
I wonder where we're going? We arrived at a door he goes behind me
"Are you ready?"
"Yes"
"Close your eyes"
"Why?"
"Just close them, don't you trust me?"
"Yeah of course I do"
"Then close it"
"Okay then" I close my eyes and we go there a door.
"K open your eyes" I see him in front me smiling. It was a rooftop with nothing but just a chairs and a campfire.
"How is this special for you?"
"I come here to think about something like about my mom.... But you should feel special your the first one I brought up here"
"Oh I feel so special"
He smiles
"Shouldn't we get to class?"
"Do you just want to skip today?"
"Umm I don't know if my dad finds out...."
"We are late for class anyways why not skip?"
Even though I wanted to I didn't want too I agreed with him
"Yes that sounds so fun!"
He laughs "okay let's go" he grabs my hand and walk to the car.
"Where are we going?"
"I think we should go to time square and just go walk around, would you like that?"
I never been to time square so of course I would want to go.
"Yeah I actually never been there"
"Really well I'm going to show you"
We have a long way there so I accidentally fell asleep in the car. I feel the car stop I didn't think that we arrived yet so I still slept. I opened my eyes and Lucas face was close to mine i froze and I didn't know what to do.
"You just got something on your mouth" he wipes it off with his hand.
I smile "thanks"
We get out of the car and arrive at time square there is so many people I think that I was getting stomped on I didn't notice that I grabbed Lucas's hand.
"Let's go in here"
"Okay"
While Lucas was getting something for his friend Texas I was looking at clothes that I couldn't even buy even in a millions years. I saw this really cute outfit that was 300 I can never afford that.
"So you ready?"
"Yeah" I was looking at the outfit
He looks at me and calls a helper to help us.
"Yes sir"
"I would like to take this outfit"
"Yes sir"
"What your getting that outfit? It won't look good on you"
"No silly it's for you"he smiles
"What! For me! But why?!"
"Because it will look good on you"
I would love to wear it right now. So I change out of my clothes to the new ones. Lucas looks at me forever and is smiling.
"Do you like it? Cowboy?"
"I love it..... You look....wow"
"Are you sure you want to buy me this?"
"Yeah it's fine anything to make you happy" he said smiling
I think that I'm starting to official like Lucas but I don't know if he feels the same way.
"The total is 356.76"
"Okay" he swiped his card I bet it's nice to have money in a card that actually works.
"Have you been iceskating?"
"Umm..no I haven't I honestly never did anything"
"Really? Now is its time to start"
My feet start to hurt and Lucas looks at me.
"Does your feet hurt"
"No"
He smiles and goes on the floor
"Get on"
"Where"
"My back"
"No it's fine I can walk"
He picks me up like we just got married and he walks to Rockefeller center.
"What are we doing here"
"Going to iceskate"
"I don't know to skate"
"I will show you"
We get on to the rink and he teaches me how to skate. I fell a lot and my butt hurts it's getting so late.
"That was fun right?"
"Yeah I had a lot of fun"
I'm hungrier than I was this morning.
"Do you want to eat?"
"Yeah what is there to eat?"
"Let's go here"
It look like a very expensive and it was like 60 dollars for one thing.
"It's so expensive"
"Yeah it's pretty expensive"
"So where do you get this money"
"Well my mom puts money into my account if I don't ask to see"
"Why?"
"It's just that my dad cheating on my mom before he left and my mom... She didn't want to see me because I reminded her so much of my dad"
"I'm sorry Lucas"
We left the restaurant and it's getting so late. But I doubt my parents are home they are never home on school days.
"It's getting late, do you just want to spend the night at my house?"
"Yeah why not. I don't want to be alone right now"
"Well your not alone"
When he said that I couldn't help but smile it's like he just came straight out of a movie. We arrived at his house and he gave me some of his clothes again. He looked at my arm and it was bruised from my dad hitting me.
"Maya, what happened?!"
"It's nothing I just fell" my face can tell I'm lying
"Your lying, Maya tell me. Please?" With a worried face.
We stare at each other for long time but I couldn't bear to tell him what happened I'm sorry...
