I couldn't tell him....I mean what is he going to do if I tell him he doesn't know what my dad is like.
"Maya?"
"No I'm not lying I just fell when I was sneaking out that's all"
"Why? They don't let you out of the house?"
"No Lucas.... You just won't understand"
"Why? What won't I understand, tell me please"
"You won't understand because you live this perfect life!"
"I don't live a perfect life"
"You live in a apartment by yourself and it's like you have all this money in world. That I couldn't have in a million years"
"It just seems like that...but if you really know how I feel you wouldn't say that"
I feel so bad now he told me about his family and about his mom. I can't believe I said it.
"You know your the first one I told about my mom...."
"I'm sorry, I just got jealous because I never had a life like this only in my dreams"
"You know life gets better. Like when you met the right guy that can just take you away from that"
We stare at each other and Lucas touched my face.
"I'm sorry I don't know what I was thinking"
I didn't know how to respond. But I responded finally
"I'm getting tired,are you?"
"Yeah let's go to sleep, come on muffin"
We go to sleep. it was morning already and I didn't wake up next to Lucas. I go to the bathroom my toothbrush he bought me it's still there. I go to the kitchen and he making breakfast. I couldn't help but smile.
"What are you doing?"
"Cooking us breakfast"
"I see that you kept my toothbrush you bought me"
"Yeah" he smiles "why wouldn't I keep it?"
"So I was wondering did you ever invite misty over here to spend the night?"
"Misty....hmm I don't know that name" he laughs
"But really?"
"No, why would you be jealous?"
"No I'm just wondering you guys were dating"
"She wasn't actually my girlfriend we just made out at a party and she thought that we were boyfriend and girlfriend, well you know I asked her out so she could stop bothering me"
"Sounds creepy"
He laughs. He was going to set the table but I grabbed it from him
"No I can do it"
He smiles "okay miss hart"
We eat, we get ready for school and he drives
"You know one of these days I need to learn how to cook for you"
"And not burn it" he laughs
We arrive at school
"So if I learn to cook what should I cook for you?"
"Well you know I love baked Alaska"
Bake Alaska? Okay I will remember that. I hear people talking about me "do you know he broke up with misty for the new girl? Omg what a slut! I don't like her I heard she doesn't comes from the hood"
It kinda hurts hearing what there saying but I didn't expect that they were going to take it easy since I walked in with Lucas.
"Just ignore them"
It was josh next to me
"Hey I'm josh I don't think you remember"
"Oh yeah I remember"
"Okay so are you doing anything today, Riley told me your single"
"Hey brother!"
"Aye what's up"
"I'm asking Maya out on a date"
"Oh, really?" Lucas looked at me and then look at josh
"Yeah so what do you say Maya?"
I didn't know what to do. I like Lucas
"Um sure"
Lucas's face looks disappointed
"Well have fun on your guys date"
"Thanks bro"
I don't know if I made the right choice. I watched Lucas walk away from me. School ended and I met josh outside of school and I see Lucas.
"Lucas,wait!"
"Yeah Maya?"
"I was wondering if you would like to be my project partner in chemistry there no else that wanted to be my partner"
"Hey Maya!" It was josh "hey bro" he put his arm around me
"Hey, I'm just going to text you Maya"
"Okay bye"
"Why is he going to text you"
"I asked him if he wanted to be my chemistry partner"
"Well you know I'm really good a chemistry I can be your partner"
"Umm no it's fine"
"Let's go" he put me in his car it wasn't as nice as Lucas bmw but it was okay I felt awkward around him we talked and we went on a date it was nothing magical like the day I spent with Lucas. I just don't feel anything there. I get a text from Lucas when he was driving me home "hey Maya, hope you had a great date and yes I will be your partner" two weeks after our date I never seen Lucas around we text each other everyday but I want to see him. Then I see misty.
"Hey"
"Hi"
"Yeah I'm just letting you know Lucas moved on from your little hook up"
"What? I didn't hook up with him"
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah"
"Do you talk about your problems in the hood"
"I'm not from the hood"
"That's not what I heard"
"I don't care what you heard"
"I don't know who you think you are but watch out because he is mine"
"He's not anybody's property"
"Well he lives on my dads property so you know I basically own him"
"Your making him sound like a dog"
"Just like you? Your nothing but just a piece of crap that Lucas has to pick up"
"Get out of the way"
"Oh your hood side is coming out"
I just walk away
"Hey Maya" it was josh again I thought it was Lucas
"Hey"
"Did you hear Lucas is dating a girl back in Texas"
"Is he?"
Wow maybe that was the girl from Texas I thought he was feeling the same way but I guess not.
"Yeah they been dating for two weeks"
"Well if it makes him happy I will be happy too"
"That's good it could be just be me and you"
"I got to go home now"
He really just has a girlfriend? No Maya you can't cry right now I hurry and run home and lock the door because it was my dad home....I don't want to lose Lucas..
