Wirt's POV:

We walked until it was daytime. "Wirt, I'm hungry and tired. Could we please take a break?" Dipper begged.

"I guess Potsfield is in a quater mile. We could see if we could eat there."

"Potsfield? Is that even in Oregon?"

"Uh... Technically." I wasn't lying to him because The Unknown was a higher plane. It was a purgatory. "Just warning you it is a pilgrimy town with... people that wear pumpkin suits." Again, I wasn't lying. Skeletons are technicality people, right?

"Why, is that some kind of religion?"

"I guess you could say that."

"Weird- Ah!" He stepped into a pumpkin.

"Haha, that happened to me the first time- darn!" I stepped onto a pumpkin.

"Ha, karma!" Dipper laughed. "I bet I could kick the pumpkin off of my foot father than you." He challenged.

"I bet you could." I agreed.

"Come on and try you might surprise yourself." He encouraged me.

"Alright."

"Ready... Set... Go!" Dipper kicked the pumpkin in front of us by about three feet. I hopped around frantically trying to get it to come off causing my other foot to step in another pumpkin.

"Darn it!" I yelled.

"Haha its okay, Wirt. Here sit down and I'll help you get them off." I sat down on the harden dirt road as Dipper took the pumpkins off reverse Cinderella prince style. "Alright off to weird pumpkin people cult town."

"Potsfield..." I grumbled correcting him.

We continued into town and saw a mother and two children. "Excuse me, do you know a place we could eat?" I asked.

"No, we don't need to eat."

"Oh, yeah that's right..."

"But I could make you a pumpkin pie for a price."

"How much?"

"15 cents."

"That's it?" Dipper asked.

"Alright, thank you so much."

"No problem, follow me." She led us to her house.

After she baked the pie we thanked and payed her and headed back on the road.

I watched Dipper admirably as he looked at the remaining adelwood trees. Suddenly he looked at me. "Wirt, where did you get that cape?"

"What, cape?..... Ah!" I looked down and saw I was wearing the same cape from the last time I was in the unknown. "I-I don't know!" I took it off and put it on a tree limb.

"You didn't steal... Did you?"

"No! Are you accusing me?" I gasped at his accusation.

"Well, a cape doesn't exactly materialize out of nowhere." He pointed out.

"It does here..."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I don't know how to explain it... But please Dipper trust me!"

He raised an eyebrow at me and then relaxed his face. "Okay.."

We continued to walk as I carried the pie waiting for it to cool that is until I tripped. "Woah!" I yelled stumbling on exposed tree roots. The pie went straight into my face.
