Maya's POV.

I walked into class and handed in my assignment not without first glancing at Lucas's seat where he was already siting and didn't hesitate to show me a playful smirk.

I fake smiled to the teacher and looked at the available seats.

There were two. The first one was right besides Missy and the second one was right besides Lucas.

Damn it. I thought as I sat besides Lucas.

"Uh-Maya I need to ask you some-" the teacher interrupted.

"Friar, keep your eyes on the board and your ears focused on me." She didn't look happy at all, maybe she had a bad day.

"Okay, I will grade your assignments for tomorrow but today, there's a new one. I'm happy to say that the couples that were picked yesterday will be permanent. That is until the course is finished except of course for mix camp which is Saturday" I sighed.  I didn't have a choice.

Mix camp was the weekend where everyone taking the test, that is from every state and every shift, had a full weekend of activities together. It took place in Turquoise.

Turquoise was an island near Blue and Green. Its only purpose was to be the host of the mix camp once a year, besides that, nobody was allowed to be there, god knows why.

Being from Purple we were a 4 hours flight away from it and as I'd never flown before I was absolutely excited.

The teacher proceeded to give us the task and we all got ready to go home.

"Uh- Maya" Lucas's voice sounded shy when the class ended.

"What? If it's about the assignment, I'm sure we can pull it off individually, there's no need for us to get together to do some stupid quiz, I could fill it up for both of us" I answered carelessly while packing my stuff.

"No-it's not about that- it's just I was wondering if you'd like to come to dinner with us"

Huh? Us?

"Us?" I asked confused.

"My family" the question caught me off guard, out of all the things in the world this was the one I would've expected the least.

"Why?" I responded, which probably sounded rude as heck.

"My sister... She's like your number one fan" he mumbled.

Crap. I muttered to my insides. I was glad he hadn't recognized me and now he had.

If I said no it would be really bad for my reputation and I really didn't feel like letting a fan down even if I had to go through the most awkward dinner on earth.

"Oh.. Well.. Sure" I fake smiled "anything for a fan but I need to get home first"

"Sure take your time, dinner is served at 7" his expression seemed rather shy.

"See you... Tonight" I walked away as fast as I could not to let him see me blush in discomfort.
