I woke up to loud banging on my door. Groaning, I sat up and wondered who would be showing up at my door. I sat up quickly and brushed through my hair with my fingers, then slid on my glasses. I jumped up and opened the door seeing someone I really didn't want to see.

Will.

"Sutcliff! Shouldn't you be out in the field working right now? I can always count on you to be late" He fumed angrily.

I said nothing as he continued to ramble, drifting off into my own world.

"Grell! Are you listening to me?!" His urgency snapped me out of my thoughts like a slap in the face.

"Yeah. I'll get right out there" I sighed and closed the door.

I leaned my back against the door, staying still for a few moments. Slowly, I slid my back down the door and sat on the floor, my knees pulled up to my chest and I sat my head in my hands. Soon I stood back up and got ready to go out.

I grabbed my coat and death scythe and walked out the door. I sighed as I locked my door and entered the human world.

---

I stood on the roof of a building making myself unnoticed. I just waited and watched as my newest victim, I didn't bother remembering the name, went and got himself hit by a speeding carriage. Idiot.

Silently, I jumped from the roof and landed swiftly on the ground, pierced the mans heart, and was back on the roof in a flash collecting his record and watching closely. It was a boring one. Not that I expected anything.

I then realized I had an hour until another stupid human would end up killing themselves. What to do until then?

I stared down at the red and black watch on my wrist and rolled my eyes. Why can't people just die quicker so I can go home and wallow in my misery?

Walking through the town for about a half an hour in my thoughts, I started to think what my life would have been like if my fate had been changed. What if I had never become what I am now? Soon I bumped right into someone. Two seconds later, I was on the ground.

"I am so sorry." Said a familiar voice. Clearly he hadn't seen my face or he would have killed me. Not like at this moment I didn't want him to. He would do me a favor.

"It's fine Sebastian" I said, standing up and helping him up with me.

"Grell? Are you alright?" He asked. Since when did he care.

"Since when do you care?" I scoffed, not even trying to hide my misery. I didn't look up at his face.

"Grell. What happened? You can tell me"

"Its nothing!" I snapped and stormed off to finish my work.

Sebastian's POV

Whats wrong with Grell? He normally seems so happy. And he didn't try to get into my trousers this time. Huh?

But there was something else I felt: A spark.

Where it came from, I don't know but I think I liked it. When he helped me up, I felt it shoot through my whole body, a tingling feeling.

But something else confused me. I felt something in my chest.

A pounding. Slow paced, like my heart started up again.

I only heard of that happening in one situation. I know I need to get close to him again, quickly.

Turning to the direction he walked off in, he was already gone.

I assume I should tell you why I'm out alone in the town, huh?

Well my master gave me the day off so I could be able to work right away when I got back. I don't know, he has been lightening up a little though I have noticed. I wonder whats going on? Everyone is acting strange.

I tell you, it better not be another angel. I swear if it is I'll... never mind.

Wandering around, I decided to go to the same place I always go. I found myself making my way through the thick trees of a forest and down to a familiar clearing.

I stared down into the cool water of the small river in front of me and sat down slowly.

Letting my thoughts wander, I wondered what would happen if people knew what I am.

I would probably be hunted. Stoned even.

But what about people I have really talked to? I laid back into the grass and closed my eyes.

The servants. Confused, maybe even disgusted. Or maybe the opposite. I don't know, but for some reason feel like I'm going to find out soon.

Apparently, I let my time slip away as its late. I should get back to help master get ready for bed. Still, I couldn't get that reaper out of my head. Why is he suddenly stuck on my mind? It might have been the change of attitude I suddenly saw earlier. Hmm.... Most troublesome.

Very short chapter >_< Its probably only about 1 page >_< Well whatever, I drug it out for as long as I could. These first two chapters are short because I'm just trying to set the starting mood before things go bat shit xD

So tell me if you like it :)

Song: The Diary of Jane-Breaking Benjamin //I have no clue how it goes with the story but it does in some ways if you think about it. And it just happens to be the song I'm listening to as I finish writing this. A minuet before it would have been Getting Away With Murder-Papa Roach//
