*Grell's POV*

More bitching from Will today. Dammit. Oh I just have to make it til tomorrow and then I got the day off. Normal morning routine, and out to the field. I guess making some victim die early might make me feel better. No. Not even death could make me happy.

Sitting on some random rooftop, I watched some guy get mugged and shot before going down and finishing him off. I walked away and started thinking to myself. I seem to be doing that a lot lately.

What was that look Sebastian gave me when I helped him up? It wasn't anger or anything. It was a mix. Confusion? I think that was the main one.

About 4 more deaths later, I was waiting for my last victim outside some sort of pawn shop. But this one was different. The rule never told me how they were going to die, just that they were.

Its 8:00 right now, the death should be coming sometime soon.

I just started out into the dark streets, waiting. With a short black leather jacket instead of my coat, a cigarette dangling from my lips, and a pistol in a holster hooked to my belt. I could just look like some thug just leaning on the side of the building in the snow.

But the moment I was least expecting it, I saw the woman I was supposed to collect. What was her name again? Bella? Something like that....

Before I could react, something shot out of the ground and grabbed her. I did a double take and almsot tripped as I stumbled forward, grabbing at my scythe, speechless. What the hell?!

It was a large creature. It looked like a huge insect. Its skin was black as night and it had glowing red eyes. It had about 6 legs and two giant claws.

It grabbed the lady in one of its giant claws and she screamed and fought. I could only watch in pure horror as the creature seemed to snap a few of her bones. She screamed and screamed with more fear and terror than I have ever seen from any creature.

But then something else happened.

It turned. It clearly saw me and threw the woman to the side. She was broken but alive, for now. And she could see everything. Shit.

The cigarette fell from between my lisp as I stared in horror.

It opened its mouth and I saw rows of sharp teeth and a long pink tongue. Its teeth were dripping with saliva. Gross. It turned and charged at me before I could do anything.

Wait!! This isn't supposed to happen!!

I turned on my feet and rushed across the street as it charged. I narrowly missed it and it stopped just before crashing into the building.

I shook from fear and confusion.

"What is that thing?!" I said allowed. And how do the people living here not hear anything?!

But that's when I saw out of the corner of my eye someone in a window hiding and shaking. Looking all around, there was someone in almost every home. They were all scared.

I saw the woman try to crawl away. I contemplated letting her go or not.

Missing a target means a failed mission. But this should be an exception.

Realizing that right now, I can't do a thing. To many people around.

Turning swiftly again, I raced off down the street trying to throw it off my trail. But why did it suddenly go after me? I raced down a narrow alley so I would have time to think. At least I hope.

It chased after me as I turned, but it was to big to fit. Did I forget to the mention the thing is HUGE?!

Anyway, I need to think of my options here. I leaned against the back wall trying to catch my breath. Where could I go. I don't have many people to help. All the other reapers I know are way to far away to get here anyway. But why would they even help me?
