"You are here because..." - Klaus started saying.

"We want to get to know you." - Hayley cut him off. Wait...Hayley? How did she get here? Ah, dear mother, always there when I don't need her.

"Hayley?" - he said surprised. Oh, he didn't know she was here. This is getting more interesting by second.

She glared at him.

Maybe they'll fight. That would be even more interesting. I'm such a bad person. No, no that wouldn't be interesting, it would be... messy.

"What are you doing here?" - he asked mad, angry and confused. I feel like a psychologist right now.

I wonder who told her that I'm here. Just kidding, must've been that stinky wolf... what was his name? Jackson, yes Jackie, here we go.

"Same as you" - she said. The way she speaks, she surely doesn't like Klaus. Ah, past lovers - now enemies, so dramatic. I wonder what happened to them.

Suddenly Hayley looked at me with kind of say-something look.

"Oh, don't stop because of me." - I said because, come on, it was too interesting. And, then she gave me something that, I think, was a serious look. Man, she really mastered those types of looks.

Klaus smirked. Great, now I feel sorry for Hayley, but this is not my fault. Oh, god, I should really say something.

"Yes, like you said, I am here because you want to get to know me or something, I didn't really listen, I was distracted" - I said with as serious tone as I could make it, which by the way is not that good.

"Can I offer you to sit down?" - Klaus asked charmingly as he pointed at four chairs. Well, that doesn't make sense.

We sat down and I knew, I knew that now will come that question. You know what I'm talking about "those" questions.

"You grew up so much..." - she started with tears in her eyes and to be honest it did touch me but it's been 17 years even if I wanted to look at them as my parents they are strangers to me.

"Yes, I believe that we've been through this already." - I said, not trying to hurt her but it's true. We've been through this.

"You know, we never stopped looking for you." - Klaus said to me suddenly. I didn't expect that.

"Well, you have crappy looking skills." - I said jokingly.

"We are sorry... I am sorry..." - he started with sadness in his voice.

"Don't be. I had amazing parents." - I said sadly because I remembered my dear parents.

"Had? What happened to them?" - Hayley asked surprised.

"Life happened. People die, there is nothing we can do about it..." - I said with sorrow in my heart. I don't like to talk about it, I don't like people seeing my emotions so I don't show them but if you can't see something it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

Hayley looked down; I guess she didn't expect that. I'm just full of surprises.

"I'm sorry..."- she said with sad voice after few minutes of silence.

"Don't apologize, it's not your fault." - I started saying, "So, you wanted to ask me something..."

"My parents died when I was young, too."- she said sadly.

"I know." - I simply said. My grandma told me everything about both of them, everything she knew at least.

"When did you find out you were adopted?" - she said changing the subject. It didn't bother me because, like I said, I don't like talking about it but what she didn't know is that she didn't like to do it either.

That question is one of the question I won't ever be able to answer without crying, it's too painful to me and every time someone asks it, I don't answer it.

"A while ago. It's my turn to ask now." - I said and they nodded.

Klaus stayed silent, I don't know why, I didn't take him for silent guy.

"Why did you marry Jackson?" - I said as I looked at Hayley. She was surprised that I didn't ask something about my past or something, but there is reason why I didn't - believe it or not.

"Um...I married...At the time we needed help from them to protect you and..." - she stuttered. She didn't know what to say. I'm surprised she didn't say "It's complicated", so that is a progress.

"Do you love him?" - I asked because that part I didn't understand.

"It's really complicated...." - she started and I knew that this answer is coming.

"There is two possible answers, just pick one" - I said calmly, but she wasn't calm anymore.

"Yes, I love him, but I don't see why is that relevant..."

"It's relevant I assure you", I started as I looked that both of them now, "It's your turn, ask me something, whatever you want."

"How did you end up here, in New Orleans?" - Klaus asked.

"My grandmother lives here and she is my legal guardian." - I said simply and quickly.

"Why didn't she come here with you then?" - he asked again.

"Yes...well... we got in fight." - I said. Those questions were going on my nerves.

"Can I ask why?" - Hayley asked curiously.

"No, you can't. I think it's enough question for tonight." - I said a bit angry because I'm still kind of mad on my grandma. I got up and used my vampire speed to go back to dance room.

"Champagne?" - some blonde girl asked.

"Yes" - I said. I started thinking about conversation from few minutes ago.

"How is it that every time I see you, you have drink in your hand?" - some man said. His voice was familiar and he had slight accent.

"Ian?" - I asked as I turned around.

"One and only" - he said. He was cute but he is a good guy. That isn't really my type. I would just destroy him; I, my darkness and my family. He doesn't deserve to be dragged in this mess.

"What are you doing here?" - I asked confused.

"I was invited. Wanna get out of here?" - he said as a smile on my face appeared. I really do want to get out, finally.

"Sure."
