The next morning, I was awake extremely early, earlier than I'd ever usually wake up but because of the situation I found myself in, the chance of sleeping proved to be impossible as I was too on edge. So I spent three or so hours in the hotel, skipping breakfast entirely as there was no way I'd be able to keep anything down. I laid on the bed, time passing by and just hoping, praying, that Rose would turn up soon.

So when the clock struck 4 o'clock and there was no sign of Rose, I began to get agitated. Where is she? I wondered to myself as I wandered down to the lobby in the hopes that she'd just be pulling up.

She wasn't there.

Using the phone at the reception desk, I tried to ring her but nothing came of it; she didn't pick up. I tried calling three times but to no avail. I started to get worried. What if she had been in an accident on her way here? There was no doubt in my mind that she'd be speeding as much as she could in order to get to me as soon as possible. She'd do anything for her friends, including risking being pulled over.

Another hour went by of me just sitting in the lobby, watching out for any sign of my friend. In fact, the visitors that I had were the people I wasn't expecting to see again, though I was glad they had turned up.

Jane and William came through the entrance and upon spotting me sitting in the corner by the elevators, they headed over. They were both talking amongst themselves until they reached me and when they stopped just in front of me, they stopped speaking and smiled warmly at me. I smiled back at them, standing up to hug them both.

"We thought you'd be gone by now," William commented. "What time is your friend coming to pick you up?"

"She should have already been here." I admitted, anxious to get out of London once and for all. I sat back down and glanced around.

"Have you tried to call her?"

"She's not answering. I'm beginning to get worried. What if something has happened to her?" I asked, though the question was purely rhetorical, I was glad when they decided to answer me.

"I don't suspect any harm will have come to her," Jane said, nodding to herself. "The traffic is horrendous in London so I assume she's stuck in it and will be here as fast as she can."

"I hope so." I nodded, though her words did put me at ease.

"Is there anything you need before you go? We don't have anything to do so if you need our help, we will be delighted to help!" Jane said.

I shook my head. "No, don't worry. You've helped me enough by bringing me here. All I want now is to go home."

They both frowned once I'd stopped speaking and at first, I thought they were offended by my words - though I was confused as to why they would be. Then, when William spoke, all my fears once again came to the surface.

"You were taken, weren't you?" He asked but didn't pause to let me answer him. "I thought as much but now, I'm almost certain of it! Who is it that did this? We shall get the police involved and you'll be safe!"

"No!" I said, shaking my head vehemently. "That's not necessary, honestly. I don't think they will come after me once I'm back home, I'm sure of it."

"But if you were taken against your will, who's to say they won't do it to anyone else!" William said. "You can't possibly want that to happen."

"Of course I don't." I said, not knowing what else to say because he was right. The police should be involved in this, to make sure that everyone is safe from him but how could I get the police involved when Shadow would probably just kill them? He showed little remorse for anything and I understood that the only prominent emotion he held was anger. How could I put anyone in danger of crossing paths with him with the intention to lock him up? Besides, he is a vampire, he could break out of prison and kill me all within the space of a couple of hours.
