Although Shadow wasn't impressed by the fact he had to let me walk around as I pleased, he had no choice in the matter. He knew I would only try and escape again - and I would. I didn't want to be anywhere anymore. I didn't feel safe. I didn't understand why he couldn't just take me to Rose so I could stay with her because surely if Raven knew that Shadow had 'gotten rid of me' so to speak, she wouldn't be inclined to chase after me? Then again, I didn't know what she had against him in the first place as they still refused to tell me that part so I didn't have a clue about anything. I was left in the dark and I hated it.
I was given access to the internet though I soon realised that there was no point in it. All I did was go on social media but it's not like I could say anything to anyone. Not with Leah sat right beside me watching everything I do just in case I told someone. As much I didn't trust them, they didn't trust me either.
Alec had been in and out practically every hour, whether it was to see Leah or to speak to Shadow. He rarely spoke to me though, whenever we were in the same room as one another, he barely spoke to me. It wasn't like I wanted to make conversation with him either, so it didn't bother me too much. I kept to myself, only speaking when spoken to.
"Raven is outside!" I suddenly heard Leah yell from the hallway, rushing into the living room where the rest of us were. I was at in the corner of the room, on the floor reading the vampire book I'd gotten when she rushed in, looking panicked.
Shadow was instantly on his feet, casting a quick glance at me before he disappeared. I heard the front door open and Shadow yelling. There was a female voice yelling back.
She was in the room before anyone had the chance to jump up. She stood, a manic grin on her face as she looked around the room. Everybody was stood up, even I stood up on shaky legs, leaning against the wall for support.
"Where's this bitch then?" Raven asked, glancing around the room when her eyes zeroed in on me. Glancing up and down, I shrank back against the wall. "What a cute little pet you have, Shadow, though I'm sure you could do better."
"Get out, Raven." Shadow said, standing behind her.
I felt exposed stood there, trying to remain calm but knowing it was impossible to even try. There was no way I could feel even remotely calm. Raven was definitely not what I was expecting, whatever that was. She had bright purple hair that was tied back into a high ponytail, tendrils of hair escaping to frame her face. As she walked further into the room, her hips swaying, she didn't take her eyes off me and I gulped nervously.
I was trapped and she knew it. She could reach me before I could reach Shadow or Leah, or even Alec.
"Get out, princess. Can't you see you're not welcome here?" Alec said, walking around the room slowly until he was stood in front of me, protectively. I was shocked at the gesture as he gave me the impression he didn't care what happened to me but either way, I was glad that Raven's gaze was no longer on me.
Okay, Violet, think escape options, I told myself. Escaping a psychotic vampire was definitely going to be tricky but if I could escape two, surely I could escape another? Would the others even let me run if I had the chance? I had to try. There was a window two steps to my right but I'd need to open it first before I could jump out and by the time I'd opened it, Raven would catch me so that would be hard but I couldn't cross it off completely. Maybe if Shadow grabbed Raven, I could make a run for it but then what? Where would I go?
The more I tried to think of an escape route, the less sure I was that I'd be able to pull it off. I didn't even know if Raven had any friends that would be willing to help her since I didn't know anything about her. She could have the place surrounded for all I knew!
