POV: Kota

Mental check, where is everyone?

1 -Me. Here, home, nothing to do.

2- Mr. B. is working on something for the school.

3 - Dr. Green is at the hospital.

4 - Nathan is teaching a self-defense class to a new group of Academy recruits.

5 - Victor is on assignment installing cameras for another team.  He is really racking up the favors lately.  Volto has the whole Academy scared.

6 - Gabe is at the Diner until 9:00.

7 - Luke is with Sang at the Taylor Compound.

8 - North is with Gabe at the Diner and will give him a ride home at the end of their shift.

9 - Silas is helping his dad with some work.

10 - My perfect 10 is with Luke hopefully not getting in trouble.

And I am here, at home, with nothing to do.  I could have asked Sang to hang out with me, but Erica needed me to be here when Jessica got home from school to take her to a friend's house for the night.  Now that it is done, I have nothing to do.  I guess I will finish reading The Count of Monte Cristo for English class.  Sang is already done.  I can't believe that she has finished before me.

How pathetic?  It is Friday afternoon and I am at home thinking about doing homework for a class that has no bearing on my life whatsoever.

There is that Astrophysics lecture at the University that I could attend, but that is not until later.  Still pathetic though.

POV: Sang

"Luke, he has gotten so big!", I exclaim as I play fetch with the black and white ball of energy.

"That's what happens when you don't come to visit for a few weeks," Luke pouts.

"I'm sorry, Lucian.  Do you forgive me?"  He's right though, I haven't been here to visit.  Uncle has invited me a couple of times when I was working at the Diner, but when you don't have transportation or a license, getting anywhere is kind of hard.

"I don't know, Cupcake.  I don't think that it is my forgiveness you need"  he smirks.

I shoot him a confused look as he shifts his eyes to the little rascal who is trying to get into my to go bag.

"I'm sorry, Sprinkles.  Let me find a treat for you."  The little skunk's head pops up at the sound of the word "treat".  He really is a smart little thing.  "Luke, who taught him to fetch?"

"I did.  It was funny.  I got him get North's keys when I threw them.  The problem is that he now takes keys whenever he sees them.  We have put a key rack by the door out of his reach so he can't get them.  We used to keep them in a bowl on the ledge, but he learned to climb and take them. He has also taken Uncle's money clip, my bag of Hershey's kisses and North's screw drivers.  He has to be locked in my room at all times now."  Luke looks at his pet and starts playing again.

I head downstairs and into the kitchen, which is the only finished room in the house.  The Taylor men know where their priorities lie.

I look around for the container of food.  "Luke!" I yell and I turn around.  "Oh!" I scream as I put my hand on my heart.  Luke is right behind me.  I mean RIGHT behind me, like 2 inches from my face.  It is scary how quiet he can be.  "Luke, you scared me!  Don't do that!"

Luke is holding his stomach he is laughing so hard.  I don't think he is remorseful at all.

I look around the kitchen again.  Everything has a place.  The counters are neat and spotless.  There are canisters of Flour, Sugar, and Coffee near the roundabout that holds cooking utensils.  Pots and pans hang above the island stove.  I still do not see the food for Sprinkles.
