seven.
calum sat in the booth right at the very end of the mcdonalds building, away from the rowdy families and the people he recognised from school. he sat with his frozen coke and cheeseburger pushed to the side as he traced his fingers of the design on the front of his new shirt. he had been looking at it for five minutes now, his frozen coke was just coke now and no doubt his cheeseburger was cold but calum didn't mind. all calum cared about was this shirt, maybe lots of people knew of this band and maybe they would compliment him on it and be his friend.
calum shook his head at the idea, nobody would ever be his friend, nobody ever cared enough. he did have one friend once, but she was like everyone else, just got up and left. leaving calum behind, lonely, in this demented world. calum wanted to leave too, he hated the entire universe, but he had to impress her. he had to show her that he was the one for her and that she too could love him back, that was why he was going to the party.
his stomach tied itself in a knot, of nervousness and hunger. he reached out to grab his cold cheeseburger and brought it to his chapped lips. it was disgusting, but he forced himself to eat it. as he chewed he stared out into the interior of the mcdonalds, nobody had seated themselves in a two-table radius. calum was used to this though, nobody ever wanted to sit near him, nobody ever sat next to him. he was a loner.
