Why are all these lights so bright? I thought as soon as I opened my eyes from my nightmare. Too bright. Bright light. Bright light. I was in Asher's room. The walls were Grey and the furniture was black. His bed was white and huge. Dawn and I always snuck in here and jumped on his bed to wake him. He was laying on a couch against the far wall. Brayden had made a little bed in the floor with two blankets and a pillow. I threw my pillow at Asher. He immediately sat up and his long black hair stood up all over the place. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh. Daisy you're awake. How do you feel?" He asked sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Tired." I smiled.

"Good." He said nodding. "Cause you are staying right here. So go to sleep cause I'm not letting you exhaust yourself. You need to rest."

"Is that the long winded version of saying I'm on bed rest?" I asked. I started to get up.

"Yeah. So stay in bed. That's part of the whole 'bed rest' thing," he said standing up.

"Asher, I don't know what makes you think I'll stay here and do nothing." I said pushing past him. "There's work to be done."

"Not for you. Your job is to stay here and rest. At least for today. Come on, after yesterday you need it." He said. I didn't want to think about yesterday. I needed a shower. I looked down. I was wearing Asher's t-shirt and sleep pants.

"Please tell me it was you and only you that put this on me." I said looking at Brayden. He was still asleep. After yesterday it really wouldn't matter. He already saw me.

"Actually it was Dawn." He laughed. "She came by. I didn't tell her what happened. But she did put the clothes on you."

"Thanks. I need a shower." I said. I stopped at the door. "What happened yesterday? After I passed out."

"Brayden. Brayden happened," Asher sighed. "He hit Todd when he wasn't paying attention. Todd dropped you. The knife hit you I guess. Not bad. But there's a cut on your leg. Todd caught Brayden chest with the knife. It wasn't too bad but I think it'll be a scar. Then he barely got his face. Anyway if I'm in a fight I want Brayden on my team."

"Is he okay?" I looked at Brayden. I couldn't see all of his face.

"He's fine. He wouldn't let Dawn anywhere near him. She wanted to help with the soon to be scar on his chest." Asher sat on the edge of the bed. "I can tell you the rest later. Go take your shower."

"Alright," I said quietly. I walked off toward the bathroom with a towel and my soaps.

I loved Asher's upstairs bathroom. I was in love with the shower head. My aunts was gross and a little rusty so I refused to use it. I took baths. Now I get a shower!

The walls were a tan color with a red shower curtain. The sink was dark brown and he kept black towels. I loved the idea but assumed they would be hard to keep clean. The shower was the best. The hot water came on almost immediately.

After I was nice and clean I was happy to just stand under the water a little longer. I heard someone knock on the bathroom door.

"Asher made breakfast!" Dawn called. I turned off the water.

"Okay thanks," I called back. I heard her skip away.

I grabbed my towel and tucked it around me after drying my hair a little. I peeked in both directions before stepping into the hall. Since when do I forget to bring clothes to the bathroom with me?

Since the shower sounded so nice and I'm still a little dazed from yesterday. I looked in the guest room. None of my clothes were brought inside. I stepped into Asher's room. Brayden was still asleep. I tried to sneak to Asher's closet. Grabbing one of his shirts and a pair of sleep pants. Just enough to go get my clothes in. I turned around with the clothes in hand. Brayden was standing up he had a cut on his face. I felt like that cut was my fault.

He was staring at me. I didn't know what to do. Just go or thank him or what. I nodded to him and tried to pass by him. He put his arm in front of me.

I looked up at him and he wasn't looking at me. He was looking down at the ground.

"I..." he started. "Did he..." he stopped again. The cut on his face went from beside his eye to the edge of his lip.

"Does it hurt?" I asked. He looked confused. I touch the cut and he flinched. "It does."

"Not really." He shrugged I glared at him.

"Your letting Dawn take a look at it." I said sternly.

"No," he shot back. I reached up and touched the edge. It was bruising around the cut. I grabbed his hand and dragged him behind me to the bathroom.

I grabbed the triple antibiotic cream and put a bit on my finger. The cut wasn't bad. Just bruised and it might scar if not cared for. He grabbed my wrist before I could reach his face. That upset me. I hated my wrists to be grabbed. I hated his hostility as he glared at me.

"Let me at least do this," I pleaded yanking my wrist from him. He stopped me again and I glared at him before he finally let me. I wondered about the one on his chest.

"Well it's like taming a horse, congrats your the only one he'll listen to," Asher said from the door. I jumped not realizing he was there. He lifted some folded clothes in my direction.

"I'm still wearing a towel aren't I?" I said without looking down. He nodded. I looked at Brayden. He was trying not to laugh. "Alright give me clothes and get outta here."

They did as they were told and I got dressed and brushed my hair. Asher had brought me a pair of shorts and a v-neck grey shirt. I started down the stairs and as soon as i was in the kitchen Dawn and Asher shouted.

"Welcome Home!" They shouted together. I smiled and hugged them. Brayden was leaning on the bar smiling. We ate breakfast laughing.
