As I turn around, I witness her sprinting down the corridors towards me, yelling and causing a commotion. "Camron, this isn't how I pictured it. My feelings for you run deep, but I believe that if I were to get pregnant, you would be devoted to me completely and wouldn't betray me anymore."
With my back still facing her, I assert my authority, using an alpha command to halt her in her tracks. "Cherry, just let it go. I'm going for a run, and I don't need you following me!" I raise my voice, frustrated. "You were well aware of the circumstances before we even started dating."
In my frustration, I question her. "Tell me, what happens if you find your true mate? Neither you nor he can raise the child of another wolf, and you both can't ignore the call of your destined bond, can you?"
"And what about me? If I were to ever find my true mate, they would constantly pose a threat to you, as they would see you as a rival for their claim."
I have always kept a certain distance in all my relationships because I understood the consequences. This is how we, as non-human beings, are wired, and Cheryl was well aware of this. As I turn around, I confront her, allowing her to witness the turmoil she has caused with her defiant behavior. Pointing a finger at her, I reiterate something we have discussed multiple times before.
"I never concealed anything from the start. I was involved with other individuals, and you assured me that you were okay with it. And now, you choose to act like this."
As she stood there, tears staining her face, it seemed as though she believed that I was the cause of all this turmoil. Feeling a sense of betrayal, frustration welled up within me, and I let out a sigh before speaking to her.
"Listen, I can't talk to you right now. I'm going for a run. When I come back, we can continue this conversation." With those words, I walked away. Making my way out of the pack house, I headed towards the edge of the forest, standing there and gazing into the woods, allowing myself a moment to gather my thoughts. I had sensed that something was amiss when she had arrived early yesterday morning, and now I understood why.
"Mate!"
KYLE
The word echoed through my mind, a message conveyed by the animal side of my being. The pull came as swiftly as it always did, and I stood there, my midnight fur enveloping me as I transformed into my wolf form, before darting deep into the woods.
As we landed at the airport, it was already lunchtime. Despite feeling the exhaustion from jet lag, I couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness as we arrived home. Our LA house holds a special place in my heart because of the mini forest that resides on our land. In this serene space, I have the freedom to unleash my inner wolf and let it roam freely. It's been quite some time since I last ran in my wolf form, and I can feel my wolf senses slowly losing their sharpness. Due to my frequent travels, I rarely have the opportunity to indulge in this activity. That's why being here, in this moment, is truly the only time I can fully embrace my wolf nature.
I left my suitcase that was by the front door and entered the house, my sister following closely behind. Ignoring her, I called out for our mom, curious if she was home. My sister, filled with anger, stormed past me and disappeared upstairs, leaving me to shake my head at her overreactions. I brought my suitcase inside and Miss Fernandez, our maid, kindly offered to take it from me.
"Thank you." I said appreciatively. "I think I'll go for a walk in the backyard to stretch my legs. I've missed this place so much." With that, Miss Fernandez took the bag from my hands, allowing me the freedom to explore and embrace the familiar surroundings.
With that, I headed towards the trees behind the mansion, seeking a secluded spot where I could fully embrace the freedom and connection with nature. As soon as I felt hidden enough, I allowed the powerful pull within me to take over, unleashing my inner animal. Running with the wind, I experienced the exhilaration of being truly free and at one with the elements.
CAMRON
Cherry has been residing in the pack house for a month now, and her pregnancy is becoming evident. As werewolves, we carry our young for approximately four months, and Cherry has already crossed the three-month milestone. I'm uncertain about how to handle this situation, as it is impossible for me to mate with her. Despite my behavior and my refusal to seek out my mate, it doesn't alter the fact that I indeed have one.
During the past month that she has been residing here, I have refrained from sharing a bed with Cherry. This is because she deceived and plotted against me regarding something as significant as this. I must confess that I have had multiple partners in the past, and while there are no council laws against such behavior, creating a child outside of the mating bond is a matter not to be taken lightly. A mate may forgive occasional lapses, but sharing a child with another wolf is a situation that may not be easily forgiven. That is why I was always cautious whenever we were together, and now we find ourselves in this complicated situation.
The council has been inquiring about my intentions regarding mating with the she-wolf. To be truthful, I might have considered marrying her and, if the situation arose, she would have been designated as my omega through a claim ceremony if I were to meet my true mate. However, due to her deceitful actions, I am unsure how I will handle this situation. She has been attempting to earn my forgiveness, but I have not been willing to overlook such a profound betrayal.
