CAMRON
As I sat in my office, carefully reviewing the contract we had with Blunt Music Entertainment for the upcoming concert at the dome featuring artist Kyle, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. The sales had exceeded all expectations, with the venue selling out within a mere two days. The event had generated over half a million dollars in revenue, and a significant portion of that amount was due to the generous package deals offered.
A satisfied smile crossed my face as I realized the additional funds from the packages would be a welcome boost. My attention then shifted to some floor plans spread out on my desk. I had been contemplating the construction of a second pack house, and the preparations were set to begin the following week.
Just as I was engrossed in my thoughts, a gentle knock on the door interrupted my concentration. I knew exactly who it was before she even entered the room, and braced myself for yet another conversation.
"Cam." she whispered softly from behind the open door.
I let out a deep sigh, feeling the tension in my shoulders. Running my hands through my hair, I leaned back in my chair, preparing myself for whatever conversation awaited me.
"What is cherry?" I pondered silently, feeling the weight of the question.
"Camron, I implore you to just communicate with me. I understand you're upset, but holding onto this anger indefinitely is not healthy for either of us. Our little one will soon be joining us, and it breaks my heart that we haven't had more than a few words exchanged since I moved in here." she said.
gently pushing the half-closed door wide open to reveal herself standing in front of me. The scent of her omega pregnancy enveloped me, igniting a protective instinct within my wolf for our young and the omega carrying them.
Letting out a weary sigh, I gestured for her to take a seat. Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and exhaled, releasing the tension that had been building up inside me. As she settled across from me, I finally spoke up.
"Cherry, please tell me what it is you want me to say." I responded, my voice calm yet tinged with a hint of frustration.
"This situation should never have happened, and I'm doing my best to cope with it. But please, I ask you to stop putting so much pressure on me."
"Whatever"
I could sense her coldness and disappointment in her response. It seemed that she had given up on our conversation and shifted the topic to something else.
"I didn't intend to discuss this matter in the first place. My purpose for being here is to inquire if you would kindly accompany me to the concert tonight, as you had promised me last month, in order to meet Kyle."
With a sigh escaping my lips, I contemplated the situation, realizing that finding a solution was crucial to bringing an end to this ongoing issue. It occurred to me that perhaps my beta could take on the responsibility of watching her tonight, saving me the trouble of doing it myself.
I paused for a moment before responding.
"Let James take you," I suggested, my voice laced with a touch of irritation. "He needs to be there to secure the place anyway, so you might as well go with him."
My attention shifted back to the pile of papers on my desk as I began to sort through them, trying to divert my focus away from her presence in the room. Despite my attempts to ignore her, her lingering scent reminded me of her presence.
Exasperated, I couldn't help but let out a frustrated sigh. "What now, Cherry?" I asked, using her nickname with a tinge of annoyance. I braced myself for her response, anticipating that she was about to unleash her frustration by calling me by my full name and launching into a heated argument. However, I wasn't in the mood for a confrontation at that moment.
With a mocking smirk on her face, she lifted her finger and pointed directly at me. "Why can't you bring me? It was all fine and dandy for you to have me around when everything was going well, but now you're simply brushing me off. Are you fucking kidding me?" she practically shouted at me.
I glanced down at the papers spread out on my desk, taking a moment to compose myself before responding to her.
"Cherry, I understand that you're upset, and I apologize for any promises I may have made in the past that I haven't fulfilled. However, I won't be able to bring you to the concert tonight. I have other commitments that I need to attend to," I explained, trying to maintain a calm tone.
Reluctantly, I decided to give in to her persistence. Anything to avoid being in her presence any longer. I knew that agreeing to take her now would buy me some time, allowing me to slip away later and leave my beta to look after her.
"Fine, I'll take you," I conceded, my tone laced with resignation. The truth was, lately, my wolf hadn't found her very tolerable, and I was starting to feel the same way.
"Really?"she responded, her tone filled with excitement.
"Yeah, just give me an hour to finish up here. Once I'm ready, I'll take you. Now, could you please leave so I can focus on my work?"
I requested, hoping she would take the hint and give me some space.
Cherry seemed pleased with herself, her gleeful clap indicating that she had achieved her goal. She didn't seem interested in staying in the office any longer. After all, Cam couldn't stay mad at her forever, especially since she was an omega carrying his young. With a sense of confidence, she got up from her seat and replied.
"OK babe." she said, Expressing her gratitude.
"Thank you, I knew you would come around."
With that, she skipped out of the room, not even bothering to close the door behind her. As I watched her leave, I couldn't help but wonder if she was simply dense or oblivious. Just because I agreed to take her, she acted as if we were already in the midst of mating or something. Shaking my head, I refocused my attention on the pile of papers on my desk, determined to tune out any distractions and get back to work.
