More Than A Fangirl

Chapter 6

You got to the park and Dan lead you to a bench which was under one of the biggest trees in the park. You sat down next to Dan after putting your finished bubble tea cup in the bin. You felt the cold air around your arms and neck. You started to shiver.

Your POV
It was the middle of winter so it was quite cold but me being stupid I forgot to bring a coat. I started to shiver but continued talking to Dan about finding a job. "I really n-need to f-find a job s-soon.  I'm running out o-of money." You could clearly tell I was shivering. "You're shivering". Dan pointed out. "You must be freezing without a coat. Here". Dan stood up and took off his coat to give to me. "No D-Dan it's f-fine". I said. He sat down beside me and put his coat on me, ignoring my previous comment. "Thank you". I said smiling up at him. "No problem". He replied.

I began to warm up quickly in Dan's coat. It was black (obviously) and smelled like lynx deodorant. "Dan now you're cold". I pointed out. "A little". He said not really caring. "Here". I moved closer to him and pulled him into a side hug. I wrapped my arms around his waist and he put his arms around me returning the hug. I looked up at him. He was looking down at me with his cute, little smile on his face. We sat there for a few minutes in a comfortable silence until Dan decided we should be getting back.

We reached the block of flats and headed inside. We were walking up the stairs when Dan stopped to catch his breath. Surprisingly I wasn't out of breath so I laughed at him a little before grabbing his hand and pulling him up the stairs. We reached our floor and I didn't know what to do. Do I hug him? Do I just say bye? This was awkward. I stood there thinking. To my surprise Dan came up to me and planted a small kiss on my cheek. I could feel my cheeks heat up and turn red. "Bye y/n!" He said as he walked into his flat. I walked into my flat and sat on the sofa. Dan Howell kissed me! Did it mean something?  Does he like me as a friend or more than a friend? But he would never go out with you. You're just a friend to him. Just another fangirl.

Dan's POV
Me and y/n were standing at the top of the stairs about to say goodbye. I had a lot of fun today. Y/n was fun to be around. She was smart, had my since of humour, sarcastic, awkward and beautiful.  After an awkward minute of silence I walked over to y/n and kissed her cheek. What was I doing? I pulled away from her, my cheeks turning red. I said goodbye and walked into my flat. I walked straight to my room and lay on my bed looking up at the ceiling. I heard Phil come home after about 10 minutes.  Phil came into my room and asked me something but I was too lost in thought to hear him. He came over and sat on my bed. He knows something was up. "Dan are you okay?" He asked. "I think I like y/n. I've been with her all day and I got to know so much about her. She's really smart and funny. And she's really pretty. I kissed her cheek. I know it didn't really mean anything but it meant something to me. She'll never feel the same way about me though. She only likes me as a friend. But I can't stop thinking about her. What do I do Phil?" "Dan you don't know that she doesn't like you. She might feel the same way you do. I saw her looking at you a few times the other day when we were watching Doctor who". I remembered me looking at her too. Maybe she did like me. But I'm probably wrong. I mean she's perfect and I'm......me.
