When North and South were children their parents fought a lot and neglected to give their children proper care, this ended up with North having to be the one to get money and essentials so him and South could survive. Eventually they met a kid who also had family troubles so all three ended up as friends, but the kid later died of a very bad disease. This is part of the reason of why North is so caring about the people around him.
