When I woke up the sun was just rising. A flash of light escape the crack in the curtains and reached my eyes, making my pupils dilate in protest and also making me squint to adjust better. Gupta had fallen asleep, facing the middle of the room. He was drooling, barely missing his phone. I rolled my eyes, glad I didn't have to wake up to that loud thing again.I grabbed my uniform, deciding to wear the beige sweater under the jacket today. For once, I got to take a shower. I'd been too exhausted to do so yesterday. I spotted the pills on the counter and took the prescribed amount then hopped into the shower, remembering to take the binder off for once.
The water was really warm and comforting on my back and hair. The shower was pre-stocked with shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers. I finally got to wash my hair of the sweat and grime that had built up under the hairs. I sighed in a sensation of content and relief.
That's when the bathroom door opened. Of course, I only heard it, being in the shower. Thank god for tinted glass. I saw the blurry outline of Gupta enter the bathroom and look around. My pile of clothes came to his attention and he decided to look through. Seriously, what the fuck was he doing.
"What the hell Gupta!" I yelled, grabbing a wad of soap and flinging over the door. I saw it hit his head and dropped to the floor as he yelped in pain. I laughed and turned off the water, grabbing the towel. I had a habit of hanging the towel on the shower door so I could grab it more easily.
"Sorry Connor!" He yelled back. "I can't find one of my agals."
"Well I don't have it so please get out." I snapped. I watched his figure leave the bathroom and I breathed a sigh of relief. I stepped out of the shower and dried myself off, getting my uniform on. I stepped out of the bathroom as I was drying my hair with everything but my jacket on. Gupta was still looking for his agal, a different on holding the white cloth on his head in place. I decided to help him out, trying to get some water out of my ear.
After ten minutes of searching, we found it under his nightstand where we were guessing his Anubis hid it. I haven't seen Neo since I passed out last night but I don't control her so whatever. Gupta went to take a shower and I opened up my laptop. I had barely touched since I left.
I scrolled through some articles and such on recent world news. Signs of life on Mars. China's one-child policy ending. Breastfeeding debate. Woman claims her body bews alcohol? Moving on then. Religion, movies, politics. All boring. I closed the laptop and Gupta came out of the bathroom.
"We finally awake here?" I asked, leaning back on the bed. He shrugged, yawning, which I took as a no. I chuckled and opened the computer again. "Hey, Egypt's getting a new parliament, good for them."
"I know." Gupta said airily, but excitement was hidden somewhere in his voice. I looked up to him as I felt his questioning stare.
"What?" I quizzed, stilling having my head facing downwards.
"Nothing." He responded, grabbing his phone to read again. I shrugged it off and returned to the world news.
I suddenly yelled out in anger. "Oh come on! How could they lose by that much! Against England nonetheless!" I grumbled. Gupta raised an eyebrow at me and looked up from his book slightly. A light blush dusted my face. "Oh, uh, my favorite team lost again." I mumbled, fiddling with the keys. He nodded and went back to reading.
I decided it was best to listen to music on my own and received my headphones from my bag. After a few minutes of searching through music, I finally found a song I enjoyed and found myself humming it soon after.
"What are you humming?" Gupta inquired.
"Oh, just a song in Italian..." I said, tapping my foot to the beat.
