Chapter 4- We're There!

It was a long drive here, but I'm here and not late. Surprisingly Victoria isn't here yet. Usually she is the first person here but she'll come, I'm sure of it.
I go over to my brother to guide him to the bleachers so he doesn't have to stand for an hour. I wouldn't wanna stand for an hour! But I then remember what he said in the car.. how he wants to find someone. And if he found someone from this team it would be good because he plays baseball and they'd have a lot in common.
We made it here early. Practice starts in 30 minutes. No wonder we're kinda one of the first people here. I go to my brother and ask " See anyone you might be interested in? ". " Uhm.... not exactly. They aren't my type. " " Well if you see anyone just tell me and I can help big time. " Just before he can answer Victoria's dad pulls up in his gray car and drops her and super cute, totally out of my league, did I mention cute, brother, Nevin off. As I hurried to leave and run and hug Victoria I heard my brother say something but it wasn't exactly clear to my mind.
I run and give Victoria a hug like she's a relative I haven't seen since I was a baby but I always talk to. But with your best friend if you haven't seen him/her in even one week, it seems like forever. When Victoria and I start walking to the coach it is now about time to start. She asks me " Is that Dalton?! Dalton from our school?! ". And now I am shocked because she's shocked. Really shocked. I come back with " Yeah.. why? That's my... " She didn't give me time to answer. She interrupts with " He's supes hawt! Now that's your what? Are you guys dating and I didn't know? " " Ew! No! That's my brother!! And that's GROSS!! " " You have a brother? Why didn't you tell me?! And you had to have seen his name on my super cute boys list! Why didn't you say anything!?! " "I kinda thought you'd know.. " " Okay whatever. " Then we walk with the team. We always argue over the stupidest things but we always make up. I can always count on her to help us make up.
* 50 minutes pass *
Our coach has us get done ten minutes before our parents come so they don't have to wait. I mean, that's really nice to me! It's always nice because my mom usually comes 10 minutes late because she thinks it ends in one hour so I kinda sit there for 20 minutes.. But my mom always has to drop off Victoria and her brother on the way home. But now my brother has to drop them off and take us home because he has his car and he can drive. Whatevesss haha. I can't wait to get my license next year. woo hoo for being 15!
So with my brother taking us home we can leave whenever he wants. So I ask him if he can wait about 20 minutes to leave.. and I remind him about taking Tori and Nevin home. But he will wanna stay longer and hang with his buddy. Haha, buddy! Anyway I ask him and he says yes. While me and Tori hang, him and Nevin do the same. We talk about the whole brother incident and work it out. And then since it's probably a good time to tell her, I tell her. I tell her about my massive crush on Nevin. At first she thinks it's gross but she understands that I have my own opinion.
And so I'm thinking... and thinking... and thinking some more. And it hits me! We can be like best friend goals and wait omg. That's a great idea. It all makes sense. And I always think before I say things or complete actions so yeah. But I guess Tori knows I have to tell something or my face lit up or something because she asks " What is it?! " in a happy voice.
I then say " I have the perfect idea. But I'll need your help and hopefully they'll cooperate. " " They? Who's they?! You sound really happy!! It must be a really good idea then! " she replies. I say " It is! Okay so my brother said he likes to take me because he wants to find his one. His perfect match. His one true pair. And baseball is his favorite sport. "
" So? " " Well so he came here to find it and mainly everyone left and maybe I can set you guys up, you seem interested-- haha. " " Omg! That would be amazing! I'm not sure if he'll say yes though. But why do you wanna do it so badly? " I instantly say " Well I was thinking maybe you can help me and Nevin... MAYBE. He's totally out of my league though.. but if he agrees then we can go on double dates and be best friend goals and we can be our little crew! "
" Wow!! Haleigh that idea is the bomb dot com! So you talk to your brother and I'll talk to mine. Just don't give it away just like see if they'd ever date anyone here.. or something. "
" I got you girl. " We then walk to our brothers Tori just pulls Nevin and takes him away. I then say to Dalton " So do you see anyone here? You know, that you'd date? " he says " Yes I tried to tell you but you ran off. That girl you hugged looks pretty cute and chill. I think she'd be great. " I say okay. And I give a thumbs up to Tori. And she does it back. This is going amazing!
