I am reading a bunch of stuff on wattpad and I just realized that I haven't put anything on my reading list. Whoops.

BACK TO THE STORY

(I forgot to mention what shoes Cress are wearing, and that's REALLY important😁😂Not really)

Cress POV

After about ten minutes of Iko giving Cress too many options of shoes, Cress settled

on matching blue flats and they exited the closet, all five of the girls gathering in a circle

of chairs while Iko fussed over Cress's make up

(We're switching it up)

Cinder POV

Cinder couldn't admit it because she was too distracted, but she really appreciated them

all being there.

The crew, all together joking and having fun again.

Well, the crew without the guys.

Cinder opened her mouth to join in on the chatter but just then her scanner popped up with a message from Kai.

Where r you? Ceremony is about to start.

Cinder's heart missed a beat. Everything was supposed to be perfect. She could NOT be late for this of all things. Then another message. What else could she have forgotten.

Sorry, Torin is making me resend the comm with correct grammar. Thank you so much Torin...

Where ARE you?

Cinder snickered to herself.

On my way

She replied back, before bouncing up from her seat, sending a breath of quiet over the room. Scarlet was mid sentence, Cress was just about to rub off some sparkly eyeshadow Iko had forced on her that now covered her fingers, and Iko was about to pout it seemed. The only noise was Winter, humming mysteriously.

"Um, guys we have to go. It's about to start."

Iko's expression went from annoyance to excitement and she linked arms with Cinder.

"Let's do it!"

Scarlet's cloak was draped over Cinder's head and they were off.

"How long until you become Queen of Luna, my dear friend Selene?" Winter smiled, her captivating eyes shining. She may be a little crazy sometimes, but she knew that she really had a great heart.

And Cinder may not have have a complete heart, and her parts may not all be there, but she did know how to love.

Cinder brought out the date and time on her scanner. "It's 12:30 right now and the ceremony starts at 12:45 but I don't have to come out until 13:00. Oh stars were going to be late if we don't hurry."

They bustled through the streets, no lunar guards to defend them if something happened but Cinder was determined. The weight burning in her left pocket reminded her she had the flash drive and everything would be ok. She had to be the Queen for her people. Elegant, respected, but fair.

These were her thoughts as she bustled through the streets like a maniac.

Cress POV

Cress was out of breath by the time they reached the palace. Her sides heaved and her arms ached for holding her dress off the ground for so long. The shoes that she had so badly loved were now black with mud. But she knew it would be worth it.

Scarlet interrupted her thoughts with a squeal, which was very unlike her.

"Are you ready guys?! Our first crew reunion in forever!"

Winter began giggling and Cinder smirked. Iko began squealing and Cress happily smiled as they began recalling old times and laughing and frowning.

All of this happened in front of the palace gates. Some lunar guards finally noticed them and Jaccin appeared. A smirk on his face.

"Ladies," he coughed.

As if Cinder was a puppy being scolded she quickly whipped Scarlet's cape off her and Scarlet fastened it on herself. Cress stood straighter in front of the emotionless guard while Winter slumped with relief.

Winter's eyes caught Jaccin's and his eyes widened at her beauty. Cress held in a coo at this romantic sight.

He cleared his throat as if he could clear the moment. "I believe emperor Kai, Thorne, and Ze'ev are inside."

Winter rushed to Jaccin's side and clutched his arm. Jaccin's eyes widened with something that almost looked like surprise and happiness all in one stare.

"Oh Jaccin, will you please come with us?" She pleaded, batting her eyelashes.

Jaccin grumbled to himself but nodded, and led them inside. Cress lingered at the back of the group with Cinder, as they watched Iko and Scarlet argue, and Winter try to get Jaccin to smile.

"Are you nervous?" Cress asked. Cinder turned toward her with a frustrated look.

Cress blushed with embarrassment and started walking faster so she wouldn't embarrass herself more. "Oh, sorry. That's a silly question you must be really nervous-"

Cinder laughed and her a smile spread across her lips. As they turned a corner she motioned for Cress to come to walk with her again. "Sorry, it's not you. I guess I am nervous... That's all. I can't even focus. I feel like all the pressures on me and if I mess up well, then everything will be ruined. Not just the ceremony, everything..."

"Just like a board game" Cress murmured.

"What?" Cinder asked politely.

Cress blushed even deeper. "Oh, the electronic board games I play. When I play them I feel likeMif I make a wrong move than I have no chance of winning or anything..."

Cinder laughed again as they made yet another turn and nodded her head. "That's exactly how I feel. Expect, unlike your board game I don't have another move to use if I mess up. If I trip or anything then it's all over."

Cress thought this over and nodded. She noticed Jaccin was opening up an electorately carved door and everyone was starting to file inside.

Cress leaned in toward Cinder before they entered. "Sometimes you don't have to use all your best moves at first. The game gets better as you go on if save the best players for last."
