The ceremony took longer than expected. The room that, only moments before, had been filled to the brim with people was now suddenly vacant. The remaining people were the Overlord and his greatest team.

Daebzhir gazed at his comrades bicker over his attention and recalled a memory from the past.

It was a bright day in the human world when Daebzhir had planned a secretive visit with his younger sister, Saiya. Saiya was always fond of the humans despite her opposing status in Hell. She used to call them pitiful beings who weren't genuinely evil in heart, or angels who were merely guided to the wrong path.

Even though the humans didn't recognize Daebzhir, they knew who Saiya was because she often visited different regions of the world. Everywhere she went, she befriended new faces and greeted old ones. He even saw his sister banter with a human she fell in love with. The thought of her happiness suddenly brought a broad smile on his face. However, the smile slowly curved into a frown when memories of the humans' merciless betrayal flashed into his mind.

Daebzhir shook his head slightly, but it caught the attention of Sebastian, one of his Guardians who also worked as the castle's butler.

When his tasks as a guardian were accomplished, Sebastian would replace his melee uniform, layers of steel armor, with a white suit. Daebzhir chose the color white because they matched his dark, brown eyes and pale long hair. Sebastian's snow like appearance gave him the nickname, Frozen Warrior.

"M'Lord, is something the matter?" He asked.

"No, I was busy thinking of something..." Something unpleasant, but he didn't say the last part.

The atmosphere in the room darkened within seconds. When the Lord was unwell, the Guardians were also unwell on his behalf. Their devotion towards him was endless. Daebzhir decided to change the subject.

"Noibor, do a quick recap about our plans. We should repeat it for confirmation."

Noibor who was naturally smart, picked up on his master's plead. He calmly stopped to give the Guardians his attention and recited the objectives they planned a few days ago.

"Our Lord will infiltrate a prestigious academy in the capital of Relic. There will be three of us who will accompany him for the journey as rings. We have decided that it is better for us to do our duties separately to avoid suspicion. Therefor, the remaining two will gather information on Relic while the rest will handle Hell's affairs for the moment until Lord Daebzhir's orders."

The Guardians shook their heads in agreement, except Zero.

"Can you repeat the names joining the Lord?"

Noibor sighed, Zero wasn't the brightest in the group despite living as a vampire for a long time.

"I knew you were going to ask that. It's really unfortunate that you are one of the selected to join Lord Daebzhir, along with Lystis and myself. Your ability and Lystis's control of the weather would be more compatible with this journey. "

Zero nodded at the information.

"I will repeat the names because I believe that Zero isn't the only person who doesn't get it..."

Daebzhir's anger slowly dissipated after listening to his Guardians. They were like his children having created them from head to toe. Even with Saiya's disappearance, her gap was filled by his Guardians.

That being said, Noibor was the first person to join his team; He was also the only fallen angel in Hell at the moment. Their first encounter was Noibor's sudden appearance in front of his kingdom when he was lying on the cold cement. Close to death, Daebzhir was forced to take the angel in despite the oppositions in Hell. No matter how different, an enemy from Heaven would always remain as an enemy. Even if he was fallen, there were no exceptions in the hearts of Daebzhir's people.

However, Noibor's quick-witted personality gained Hell's respect after a few eventful years. At that time, Daebzhir was also experimenting with raising an entity from scratch. After mistakenly casting the wrong spell to merge a bat and an undead human, Daebzhir accidentally created Zero. He never told Zero of his birth as an accident, it would be quite hurtful to know that his existence wasn't intentional.

Daebzhir heaved out a long sigh, but his tired eyes were now filled with fiery determination; His glaring red eyes were more vibrant than ever.

Soon, I will have my revenge. I will turn your world into turmoil and savagely kill your beloved ones. This price is enough- no, not even close to what I have suffered. Not even close to the years that my heart ached ever since. I was foolish to put my trust in you, greedy beings with no sense of shame nor justice.

Enjoy the last few months as you can, mortals. Know that I will be coming after your heads to sate this demonic blood lust in my body.

Marquis Leyer, especially you I can never forgive in this universe.

Never.
