Frank POV

"We have to get there as quick as possible!" I said, bolting out the door.

"Chariots!" Reyna spluttered. I understood.

"I'll go get a chariot ready. You tell the legionnaires," I said.

We parted in our different directions, and I rushed to the armory. I harnessed some Pegasi to the chariot, drove it out and flew the chariot over to where Reyna would be, talking to the legionnaires. "Frank, Hazel, and I are going. The augur is in charge," I heard her say. She averted her eyes to the chariot above her and yelled, "Frank, go down!"

I flew down and landed the chariot as best as I could. Chariots had never been a strength of mine. Reyna ran to the chariot, and I saw Hazel push her way through the crowd. They both hopped on, and I stood back to let Reyna take the reigns. We gave one last look to the legionnaires, who gave a cheer. "Ave!" They yelled. I smiled, and Reyna flew us up, giving us a last glimpse of the legionnaires of New Rome.

Hazel was next to me, shivering. I admit, it was cold, being this high up in the air. None of us had thought to bring a jacket, but Reyna and I had our praetors' cloaks. I wrapped mine around Hazel's shoulders. "You need it more than I do," I whispered.

Hazel smiled gratefully. "Thanks, Frank. How are you gonna keep warm, though?"

I just shrugged. "Most animals I can think of right now are too heavy. The best I'll be able to do is a panda."

At once, Hazel shoved the cloak off. "You take it, then. You deserve it more than I do, anyways."

I snorted. "Yeah, you're telling me that after you won that epic win in deathball. You should get the Mural Crown for that. I've never seen anything like it."

Hazel blushed. "I had an unfair advantage with my underground-tunnel-thingy. I just guided the tunnel to the location."

"Still. It was comical, how bad the other team lost, just because of you."

This caused Hazel to blush a deeper red. I hugged her close for warmth. Of course, it would've been longer if Reyna hadn't yelled, "Stop flirting for a moment, you two! We're almost there!"

I jumped up from her sudden voice, startled. Hazel giggled a little at my reaction. "You better put your cloak on. We're landing, and it's in New York."

I sighed. Of course, we decided not to bring jackets, even though we were going to New York in the winter.

I quickly remembered why we were coming here. I found sight of the ground and Reyna began spiraling downward. The camp was still filled with people, and I saw campers being held by people in black suits, things that police and FBI would wear. The people in black were pointing at us, probably gawking, but I couldn't see their faces, which were hidden by masks. I wondered how they got through the boundaries, and what they saw. Maybe a giant bird? Flying people? Horses floating in midair? I saw Chiron crumpled on the ground, a knot on his head from which blood was dripping.

"So, what's the plan?" I asked casually.

"First, we go diplomatic," Reyna answered. "If they don't respond, we fight."

"Ah."

Hazel drew her spatha, and I slung off my backpack and it morphed into a bow as a quiver appeared on my back. Just before the chariot swooped in for the land, we jumped off. Reyna came sprinting after us. "Who are you, and why are you here?" She asked calmly.

A masked person walked forward and took off their mask. He was a man, about as tall as me. "I'm Agent Phil Coulson, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Who are you?"

I opened my mouth to speak, but Reyna beat me to the punch. "I'm Reyna, praetor of the Twelfth Legion Fulminata. Frank is my fellow praetor and colleague. This is Hazel, Centurion of the Fifth Cohort. Now, who are you?"

"Reyna." A person walked forward, with a feminine voice. Hazel took a sharp intake of breath. I had heard the voice somewhere before, but I couldn't place it. "Reyna Ramìrez-Arellano?"

Reyna stiffened. "Yes. What are you."

"Good that you say 'What', Reyna. I'm Natasha Romanoff. Your sister ever mentioned me?"

Reyna's eyes narrowed. "My sister," she said coldly. "has never mentioned you. I don't see why she would. Now, what are you, really?"

"I told you, my name is Natasha Romanoff. You should come with us," Natasha said. Her voice didn't waver at all, and she spoke with a sense of finality.

Reyna and I made eye-contact with each other. I didn't see anything we could do. Of we fought, we'd get badly outnumbered. Besides, magical metal goes straight through mortals.

"Fine," I said. "But where are you taking us to?"

Natasha hesitated for a second. "Avengers Tower," she answered. Hazel nudged me. She probably didn't know what it was. But I did. It was where the headquarters of the Avengers, a team of people with superhuman powers that apparently fought evil to defend the world, was.  If we were really going there. . . .

"Fine. Take us there," I said. I morphed my bow and quiver back into a backpack, and Hazel sheathed her spatha. Natasha stepped forward to cuff us. Right after she was done, she said to Hazel, "Aren't you the girl from the mist?"
