Isabelle's POV

"Sweetheart!" Tony spun me around, grinning excitedly. "Bought some libraries today? Killed some bad guys?" I smiled at him as he released me. I hated lying to him. If there was somebody I could always trust, it was Tony. He supported me with the stupidest things, always had my back and generally had only one way of parenting: If she broke it, I'll buy it. I loved him to pieces, just as my amazing mother, Pepper Potts. Even though, apparently, I came after my father in most ways. "I rescued a reindeer yesterday, but then it got really upset." Oh, I actually hadn't intended to say that. Hopefully Loki hadn't heard this. Tony laughed. "Made a reindeer upset?! Sounds just like my little girl." I wondered where Loki was. If Tony saw him, he would not hesitate a second before killing him himself and Loki's human form didn't make the fighting and surviving part much easier for him. As I let my gaze wander through the room, I froze. Shit, shit shit. On the sofa, clearly the best hiding place in history, laid Loki's helmet. And maybe you can already imagine, that damn thing isn't exactly inconspicuous. Oh, my life hates me. I had to get my dad out of here right now. Or, better, the stupid reindeer helmet. Maybe Loki was listening and he could let his helmet disappear, just like he did before. I cleared my throat. "Yeah, well. Life's tough. Get a HELMET, right?" I laughed nervously and cursed Loki silently. The helmet was still visible. For a sneaky trickster god, Loki obviously wasn't that good at understanding secret messages AT ALL. Or he was just not listening. Tony looked at me with concern. "You alright?" "Me? Of course..." Maybe I answered too quick, because Tony began to eye the surrounding suspiciously. Suddenly, his gaze fell on the sofa and his eyes widened. "Is that...?!" Shit. Think, Isabelle, think! Basically I was trying to fool a bloody genius here, which also happened to be my father. And Loki was going to kill me."Oh umm.." I ran to the sofa. Good start. Now plausible story. "Like it? Bought it from some street vendor... Nothing special." Loki was definitely going to kill me. At this moment, Tony started muttering "Oh no, not again. Don't think of New York just... Jarvis!" "Yes, sir? Are you alright?" Tony gave thin air an Are-You-Fucking-Serious Look. "I am having one of those 'panic attacks' you accused me of. Of course I am alright!" The computer voice of Tony Stark's technic buddy sighed. "I detect sarcasm." "OF COURSE DO YOU DETECT SARCASM I AM HAVING A FUCKING PANIC ATTACK!" I had used the time to throw the inconspicuous helmet behind the sofa and ran to my father, who knelt on the floor, breathing heavily. "What is going on?! Talk to me!" I was really worried, because this 'panic attack' wasn't typical for my very self-conscious dad. He didn't answer me. "Calm down, sir. Breathe slowly in and out.", Jarvis commanded. After a few times, Tony stood up. "I'm alright." He cleared his throat and immediately changed the topic. "Anyway, your mother was worried about you not answering your phone 'in ages'... I told her the worst thing that could possibly have happened were you being stuck under your collapsed garage while your robot tries to extinguish you instead of saving you. Has happened to me too, so completely normal. For some reason that got her really upset, so I had to check on you." I shook my head, relieved that he didn't mention the helmet further. "Thanks for being that worried, Dad..." "Well it's all fine as I can see... I'll be leaving then. Pretty busy. Love you and everything. Don't destroy too much stuff." He winked at me, looking a bit distracted, then he put his arms up. Nothing happened. I raised an eyebrow. He sighed exasperated and made the move again. "Why is this not working? Jarvis we've discussed this, performance issues and everything- ARGHHHH!" I shook my head as Tony's suit skidded him into my kitchen wall and he landed in the broken pieces of what used to be a proper wall. I sighed. Another reason why my flat was really unstable. Tony looked at the chaos he caused and frowned a bit. "Oh. Sorry about that. I promised it was the last time a week ago, didn't I?" "Actually, you say that every time you visit me since I moved into this flat.", I told him. "Oh. Well then. Jarvis, note to myself: Improve speed and impact on the target." He grabbed my shoulders, looked me dead serious in the eye and promised: "That was the last time, sweetheart." Then he flashed me a grin and flew through the luckily open balcony door, soon becoming a little red point in the sky. I stood in the kitchen and stared at what used to be my kitchen wall. "Yeah. And that too.", I murmured to myself. Suddenly, Loki appeared barely inches away from me out of thin air. "Where were you?", I hissed angrily, "Couldn't miss a meeting with the Anonym Reindeer?" He frowned. "I do not understand what you are talking about. And you are not to decide where I spend my time." I snorted angrily. He was teasing the one second, arrogant the other... Maybe he had multiple personalities. "Then you are not to leave your stupid helmet on the sofa when my father comes to visit!" At this time, I noticed that we sounded like an old married couple and shook my head at that thought. Loki stiffened. "He saw my helmet?" His voice was dangerously slow. I rolled my eyes. That was surely not my fault. "I hid it before he fully noticed it.", I said to calm him down. I mean, it wasn't exactly a lie. "So, where were you?", I asked curiously and to distract to him. Suddenly, his hard facial features softened and he offered me his hand, a slight smirk on his face. Yeah. Multiple personalities. Or PMS. "I can show you." The promise for fun on his face calmed me down a bit. A bit of distraction was just what I needed after the stress I had been in the past days. Even if this was surely not a good idea. What exactly had I to lose? Apart from my life and stuff.
I took his hand. It was cold, but really soft. And big. My hand was like half the size of his. Now I was even more curious where he would take me. Though I hadn't even been able to eat something for breakfast. Well, skipping breakfast once wouldn't hurt, I decided and looked at Loki. He smiled mysteriously at me before he made a slight movement with his hand and my chaotic flat blurred and disappeared in front of my eyes.
