*Kim's P.O.V*
My stomach grumbled and my face immediately turned bright red as Ash Lee looked back at me with a smirk. "Hungry?" he asked and I just nodded my head without making eye contact. Damn you stomach, why do you have to be so loud! I scolded myself. "You know they say that breakfast is the most important part of the day.." Ash Lee started again with his long lectures about the most obvious, yet random facts that he would like to carry on about. Perhaps it made him feel knowledgeable, but to me it felt damn annoying.
"How about we eat here!" I blurted out, looking for any chance to get him to shut the hell up. Ash Lee looked over to the small cafe on the side of the street and nodded his head in agreement. "Excellent choice Kimberly." He remarked as he practically pushed me in its direction. "Don't call me Kimberly..." I said under my breath, once again cringing at his use of my full name.
When we got to the entrance, Ash Lee made his way in front of me and opened the door, making a large unnecessary gesture as he bowed and directed me into the cafe. I just ignored him and sat down quickly at the nearest table, grabbing a menu and quickly using it to cover up my face.
I can't believe I'm missing out on school for this.
*Ash Lee's P.O.V*
When I sat down at the table I was greeted by a cardboard menu with fingers sprouting out from the sides. "Are you ready to order, or are you hiding from the police?" I asked Kim, amused at her actions. She put down the menu and gave me the look, "No, I'd just rather not be seen with you." Kim said bluntly as she picked up the menu once again, "And yes, I am ready to order."
"Yes your highness," I replied as I called the waiter over. By the time they came, I was too immersed in making a samurai hat with my napkin to notice that the waitress was there. "Excuse me," The waitress called as the tapped me on my shoulder. "Ah yes sorry, could I please have.." "Ash Lee?" She interrupted me. Just as I was about to tell her off, I recognised her face and was struck frozen. "Jessica?" I subconsciously responded as I stared at her. "Oh my god Ash Lee, where have you been? I haven't see you since.." She paused as she noticed me clench my fists. I reached over to Kim, grabbed her hand and practically lifted her out of her seat. " Come on let's go." I said bluntly, not looking back to Jessica who was yelling at me to stop. As we made our way out of the cafe I was stopped by two hands desperately grasping my shoulder.
"Ash Lee stop!" Jessica yelled as she turned me around to face her, but I never made eye contact. "I know it's been hard since Amber left us but you can't keep doing this! We've all felt the pain Ash Lee, it's not just you who is suffering alone, we all are!" She yelled at me, tears threatening to spill from my eyes. " Don't mention her name in front of me." I said sternly as I looked up to face her, "You have no idea of what I have been through." I looked over to Kim's terrified face and grabbed her hand. "Come on Kim, let's find some where else to eat."
"You can't keep running from this Ash Lee! You're being reckless!" Jessica screamed from behind us as I pulled Kim down the street.
Out of all the people to run into, why her?

I pulled myself from Ash Lee's tight grip causing him to stop and turn around. "What the hell happened back there Ash Lee? Are you okay?" I asked him cautiously, trying to find out what happened without setting him off again. His face was covered with both anger and anxiety as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He exhaled, and starred at me. It was probably the first time I had ever noticed how tired he looked. It seemed that it was hard to notice behind all of his joking around and narcissistic personality, how lost his eyes looked. At this moment he wasn't the school dictator Ash Lee that I knew, but a scared young boy.
"Who was that back there?" I asked softly, breaking the silence between us. "That was her sister." Ash Lee told me looking away. "Who's sister?" I asked subconsciously. After seeing the pain in Ash Lee's expression I realised how personal the question was and immediately apologised. "That's okay." He said, "She's my girlfriend's sister." He remarked monotonously. Ash Lee's girlfriend? But I'm sure he's had hundreds! Why feel so sad now? " Oh your girlfriend, does she go to our scho -" "She's dead."
I just starred at Ash Lee, not being able to muster the ability to speak. Questions circulated my mind like crazy. How long ago had this happened? He still refers to her as his girlfriend, did he love her that much? "I- I'm sorry for your loss." He turned to me and softly smiled, pain still evident on his face. "If you don't mind me asking, what happened to her?" My question caused Ash Lee to shiver, "You don't have to-"
"It happened a year ago on my birthday..."
